I had very good results with Dr Ehlert - he corrected my afib after one ablation procedure. I found him to be caring, serious and patient (he spent a lot of time answering all my questions and I didnt feel rushed). His team at NYP Hospital was very good too. I was nervous about the procedure but made me feel at ease and that everything was going to be OK because I was the focus of all their attention. They were really remarkable in their care and compassion. Ehlert and Columbia/NYP are a first class operation - I think it would be crazy to go anywhere else for this type of procedure.

Dr Ehlert is excellent, a true professional. He is extremely knowledgable, and takes his time, very thorough. He has an easy way about him and makes you feel at ease. I know I am in good hands as his patient.

Dr. Ehler prescribed me antiarrhytmic drug (propafenone) for my atrial fibrillation, which usually given first time at a clinic or hospital to monitor response to this drug. He asked me to take EKG after 2 days of taking the drug, send the results to his office and call him to discuss my reaction to the drug. I did as he requested, calling him for twice and leaving my phone number with the secretary. Doctor never called me back. I stopped taking the drug which very negatively affected me.

My first encounter with Dr. Ehlert was his secretary who was extremely rude and not remotely helpful. Even though I was escorted by a referring physician's secretary. Dr. Ehlert's secretary was nasty to both me the patient and the referring doctor's secretary. I have worked in health care for over 25 years and have never experienced such behavior. It reflects very negatively on Dr. Ehlert.

Dr. Ehlert is extremely knowledgeable in his area of expertise. He spends as much time as necessary with a patient to explain diagnosis and options.His bedside manner is excellent.
