I was lucky to have Dr. Mevs see my children and he is absolutely amazing!

In a reply to another post, it definitely was unacceptable for the staff to NOT ask what was wrong with your child, but the waiting room was empty due to covid regulations and not keeping patients together, waiting, they book appts so each patient goes directly in an exam room. Sorry you were treated that way but if a doctor was NOT spoken to at the time why would you give a rating at all and post under a specific physician. If there ever is a next time or have any issues, Call and speak to practice manager...she would be happy to help and would want to hear about the way you were treated....

Outstanding best doctor ever

I like Dr. Mevs as a doctor however today I had a disappointing experience. I walked in asking if my sick child could be seen by any chance and immediately got shut down by the staff. Was told they don’t accept walk ins and an appointment would have to be made. It’s fine if they don’t accept walk ins however I wasn’t even asked what’s wrong with my child. The doctor was not even asked. I understand walk ins aren’t accepted but sometimes exceptions can be made for children who are clearly uncomfortable. As someone who works in the medical field in an office that isn’t a walk in, I know exceptions for sick patients can be made. Can I also add the waiting room was completely empty???

Dr Mevs has been my son's pediatrician since he was a baby. I cannot rave enough about him as well as his partner Dr Lemma. They are always kind, professional and highly knowledgeable. I wish I could find a doctor for myself that was half as good. Dr Mevs is just a wonderful human being with a great deal of empathy for his patients. I wish the practice had remained in New Dorp but I understand that sometimes the office has to move. I highly recommend him and Dr Lemma. My son is 13 now and they have helped us through many difficult situations. We will always be grateful.

I called to make an appointment with Dr. Mevs as a new patient because I was referred to him from a clinician. I was told that he has no availability for 10 months and I need to see someone else. Since I wasn't referred to the other doctors I didn't make the appointment. Who waits 10 months to see a doctor!!! I think it would have been better for them to say he isn't taking new patients instead of trying to make me see someone else.

Dr. Mevs is the most knowledgeable, caring and personable doctor we've ever met. We met him 16 years ago after giving birth to my first born, he came to see our at the hospital and we knew he was the right pediatrician. We always look forward to our visits to his facility. He is the best!

I can literally say I travel from different states just to visit doctor Mevs office for my son ! He remembers everything and knows what’s wrong with him instantly. He has been his doctor for 6 years now and has been a family doctor for his uncles.

Dr Mevs & his associates are the finest pediatricians on SI! My child has received excellent care for 15 years. The relationship with his practice is second to none. To those who left less than stellar reviews- this is NOT an urgent care & is not for occasional drop ins. While the office staff may be firm on the phone, assure that they are using protocol in the best interest of treating your child. Dr Mevs is the BEST at what he does & is the premier mental health professional for children.
