List of David Mostafavi's Reviews
Although Dr Ray is extremely likable and very pleasant, the office is run like a free clinic. Two to three hour wait is the norm for this practice. Many times, there is standing room only. Recent renovation of the office now provides the most uncomfortable seating. The benches are too high and too narrow. No consideration of the elderly patients' comfort at all. They very rarely return a phone call in the same day. Practice needs to go back to the basics of the patient's best interest front and center and possibly book less patients per day.
The DRs are AMAZING! But there’s this one receptionist that is all up in everybody’s business! I was talking to one of the receptionist, and this girl who thinks that she runs the clinic, comes out of o where give her opinion! Very rude!!
From office visits to actual surgery couldn't ask for a more caring competent doctor. Would not hesitate to recommend him.
25 years ago I developed a fungal eye infection in my right eye that was misdiagnosed as pink eye. As soon as the mistake was found I was sent straight to Duke and Dr. Mostafavi took over. He worked fast and was able to save my vision in my right eye. I am forever grateful for his knowledge, his determination to save my eye, and his kindness.
I absolutely adore both brothers, been seeing them over 20yrs. Definitely appreciated their knowledge and generosity to me.
I have been seeing Dr. Ray for over 10 years...I cannot say enough of how amazing of a doctor...person he is. Truly a gentleman. Thorough..personable...just the best. The staff, friendly, accommodating..an extension of Dr. Ray. Reading the other reviews , I couldn't disagree more...this is the best practice around! He has helped control my high pressure to prevent further damage. I am grateful for his guidance and care. There is no better doctor...human around than Dr. Ray!!!!
In May of 2021 my wife was treated for cataracts via laser surgery. Dr Ray said although not imminently required it was better to be done now. Both eyes were scheduled and done in Brooklyn by him. We have insurance and still paid $6000 out of pocket. Assurances were made of the safety and success of the procedures. Numerous follow visits were required due to the pain and constant tearing and general irritations along with vision problems---everything that was to be corrected. Everything is fine was the standard result of those visits. This lasted through 2021 and when we tried to make an appointment because she was STILL having problems we were told that he does not accept our insurance any longer------after we have been seeing him for a few years and spent $6000 for a procedure that obviously went wrong!! IT WAS NECECESSARY TO SEE ANOTHER DOCTOR AND TO THIS DAY IS STILL HAVING PROBLEMS THAT SEEMES CANNOT BE CORRECTED EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD ADDITIONAL LASER TREATMENTS TO DO SO AND CORECT SOME LESIONS AND CAPSULE FORMATIONS ON THE NEW LENS--UNREPORTED BY DR. MOSTAFAVI.. WE THINK THAT DR MOSTAFAVI SHOULD TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY IN SEEING THIS THROUGH AND RELIEVE MY WIFE OF THE PAIN AND SUFFERING SHE CONTINUES TO HAVE---A FULL YEAR AFTER THE SURGERY!
I called four times at 5:15 and they never answer I’m guessing is it because they close at 6pm
I had cataract surgery here and was treated very well and they were professional in all aspects of my experiences with them! I highly recommend this office for all your eye care needs!
I was billed 7 months later which was strange because at the time of service they told me my insurance benefits covered the appointment. When you go there make sure your insurance covers it (no matter what they tell you) or you may receive an unpleasant surprise months after being seen.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
