I have enjoyed every appointment with Dr Samara - he is helpful, direct & got me breathing through my nose again. I have been seeing him for 2+ years, he operated on my nose Feb 2021, three weeks later I was in a major car accident that ruined the work he did to fix my broken nose. He met with me every 90 days to re-evaluate the damage & finally we went back in for a second surgery Dec 2022. He was kind & helpful every step of the way. Is he the most out-going, friendly, bubbly person? No, but I'm not looking for that in a surgeon, I'm looking for someone who knows what they're doing & can help me breathe better, which he did & made some funny jokes along the way. 10/10 would recommend Dr Samara to any friend or family member, truly made the last two years of hell bearable. I don't know what I would have done without him! Thank you Dr Samara, Lorraine & the entire Stony Brook team for making the process wonderful & easy! You guys are the BEST!!!! xo

Zero bedside ability, in fact this guy isn't even going to go see you after cutting into you. He just sends his little residents. He cut my father's carotid artery and FAILED to proper mend it. I got to watch my Dad bleed out into my kitchen sink as Dr. Samara collected yet another paycheck. DO NOT LET THIS EXCUSE FOR A DOCTOR COME NEAR YOU!!!

Malpractice!!! Would put negative stars if I could.

I had a procedure done in the beginning of March, the right part of my thyroid removed. Dr Samara could not have been any nicer or more informative regarding the procedure and the same goes for the follow up appointment.

Dr. Samara is an absolutely amazing surgeon and truly saved my life when I needed major surgery. HOWEVER.. I am extremely disappointed in some of the office staff. The main receptionists in the office are quite nice and helpful, but I do have to make a complaint about the woman who takes care of insurance paperwork & medical records Rita. I sent her paperwork almost a week ago and decided to follow up today to see if it was ready as she assured me for the last week it would be(because I need it today in order to be paid for my 2 month disability leave)... and the response I got was "Nope. Probably not today, don't know what you want me to do about it". She's just extremely rude any time I've had to speak with her. If you have the patience and are willing to put up with that for your paperwork.. I do highly reccomend Dr. Samara.

Do NOT waste your time! Horrible bed side manner, unprofessional and does not have his best interest in your health. Does not care about getting to the root cause of your issues and just dismisses it with saying it’s from wearing your mask. Getting a run around from these doctors who do not care about your health. Rude , Condescending and pompous. I do not recommend this doctor at all. Do you research before scheduling an appt!

Absolutely horrible. Did not review my chart, had no idea what meds I was on or what I had already done for my problem. Asked me questions that were in the chart. Didn’t scope me said “he’d take the other drs word for it” didn’t examine me, told me he didn’t know what it was and said I should see an oral pathologist. I told him I couldn’t find one and he said “some things I can help you with and some things I can’t “ wasn’t going to do anything until he said do you have pain? I said yes. He said “than I have to treat you.” Didn’t want to see pictures of my condition as it had changed over time. Tried to leave the room 4 times while I was mid sentence. Acted like he could care less. Did a culture and never called with results. Turns out I was negative for fungus but he had me on anti fungal meds! Waste of time and $ I should get my co pay back. Stay away.

On my first visit, he diagnosed my deviated symptoms and informed me of the issue and on my second visit he looked at my nose and informed me of a different diagnosis. No bed side manners and arrogant I canceled my scheduled surgery after reading many negative reviews Not sure why Stonybrook Medicine management has not stopped him from practicing

Expect at LEAST a 20 minute wait when scheduling an appt.

Happy with Doctor Samara. He is very kind and always takes time to answer any questions or concerns we may have.
