Online Reviews Breakdown
List of Shenhong Wu's Reviews
Most importantly is the abhorrent demeanor of Dr. Wu's nurse Kathy. She has no business being an oncology nurse with her lack of compassion, cold, matter of fact delivery if answers to questions. You are told to call them with any side effects and she is dismissive of all concerns. She returned my call when my father was in Stonybrook and said, "listen, its time for palliative care or hospice, sorry if nobody told you this" this was the nurse at the oncologist office, NOT anyone in the hospital that was taking care of my father. What would you like me to do with that information? Go into the hospital and make the staff aware of that? She was completely out of line saying his to the patient's daughter before the patient and spouse were ever informed of this. Unfortunately, diagnosis was held days and we had no time to properly choose / research an oncologist, just went with whom was referred to see quickest. Dr. Wu was on vacation when the gene mutation biopsy of the tumor results came back and we were never notified by his office. The mutation came back positive and a new treatment was available! They never called, we saw it in the portal ourselves! Withholding important like that regarding possible life extending treatment is unforgivable. Kathy is definitely NOT an asset to this office and I wouldn't recommend anyone going to Dr. Wu due to having to deal with her for all side effect related info. Language barrier is tough with Dr. Wu as well but could be worked through if treatment and care was personal. You are not treated like a valued person in this office. Go elsewhere!
Our first time visiting Dr. Wu after my husband's cancer diagnosis. Hard to form an opinion after one visit but we felt he explained everything and allowed us to ask as many questions as we needed to so we are pleased so far.
Dr. Wu is kind, courteous and on the cutting edge of medical oncology.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
