List of William Berg's Reviews
Dr Berg was absolutely fantastic. I developed GBS and had been shuffled by the so called doctors for 16 days and had become almost but not quite totally paralyzed from the neck down. Had trouble breathing if I laid down. Dr Berg listened to me describe my symptoms and within minutes told me what was wrong but wanted to do some tests to verify. He was spot on. He presented my options and explained the pro and cons. He was there for me during my recovery and I would say that the man is the best. I would recommend him to anyone needing a neurologist
Dr.Berg lied directly to my face and missed a potentially life threatening disease. He said I could call him if I was ever in pain, I called his office every single day multiple times a day and he never called back once. He looked at an old sonogram from 2019, instead of the new one I told him about and completely missed my diagnosis of epididymis. I had to be rushed to the hospital ten days later because the symptoms were so bad , and they diagnosed me almost ASAP because they looked at a new sonogram. Dr Berg has still yet to call me back once, and I beg any one who’s considering him to please re-consider. If he looked at the new sonogram, I wouldn’t have had to suffer the worst mental/physical pain of my life for an extra ten days! I have still yet to receive even one phone call from Berg and it’s quite disappointing seeing as the lady taking my messages has told him how much pain I was in. Please do not put you or your child through this type of suffering & find any other dr
I can highly recommend Dr Will Berg. He takes the time to fully understand my concerns, questions and previous medical history. Dr Berg prescribed and effective and non-intrusive treatment plan that has been quite effective. My previous visit to a different Urologist at a different practice several years ago did not yield the positive results that Dr Berg's protocol has provided. Dr Berg and his staff have been very helpful, considerate, and understanding with the two urological problems I have. Moreover, Dr Berg showed exceptional understanding and schedule flexibility after considering some personal issues I had gone through. It's rare to find a Dr who exhibits this type of empathy understanding with what a patient is going thru. Thanks again Dr Berg and team
Excellent care of my mother who has had 3 major CVA's. Spoke to her directly even though she cannot speak back. Procedure and post procedure went well!
I saw him August 21, 2013 related to a prior diagnosis...a cervical disc herniation which I was scheduled for surgery prior to moving from Virginia to WA. My symptoms were managed but the recommendation was to schedule with a neurologist as soon as possible to ensure nothing changed/got worse. I'd also had additional unexplained neurological symptoms so Dr. Berg ordered several blood tests. He also wanted to do a lumbar puncture, my past neurosurgeon/neurologist recommended I do this only at a hospital with an interventional radiologist since I have excess spinal fluid and other issues...they told me that there was a chance of brain herniation thus the test should be done only if an emergency. Dr. Berg dismissed the opinions of my prior doctors (one who taught classes at Yale and also at Virginia Hospital Center) who I liked and trusted. He was rude and dismissive. When a test came back positive for an ANA, they called to cancel my follow-up and referred me to a rheumatologist. Mean while, I've tested positive for lyme...something prior doctors tested me for many times since I worked outside (in Virginia and Ohio). They never mentioned it...not to my GP, not to me, not to the rheumatologist. So essentially some of my current symptoms could be related to Lyme disease. I'm not a believer in chronic lyme related issues that last for years after treatment but I do wonder what happens when lyme disease is not treated for two years? FYI it was another specialist (at Swedish) who saw the test results and informed me of them but then he dismissed them saying I'd probably been infected long ago...except I've years worth of negative tests. I'm getting copies of all my old test results from records since those from UW lab apparently don't go into the epic/mychart system. Also, Dr. Berg never reviewed my old records prior to my appointment...and then kept quizzing me on my history as though looking for holes in my story...it felt like an interrogation. I kept repeating that if he didn't believe believe me then he should look in my records, that all the info was there. He kept telling me that my symptoms didn't make sense...that my history was confusing...and I said for him to look in my records or contact my old neurosurgeon or neurologist. After seeing him, it made me distrust any of my GPs referrals since the first doc he sent me too was a very negative experience. If Dr.Berg hasn't retired yet, I hope he does so soon. I'd rate Dr.Berg a zero. His staff a 1 since he did call with results and then fax them to me for the one test...just not the other. Dr. Berg did run on time. As for his knowledge I've got now way of knowing since his communication skills were terrible and he definitely wasn't helpful. I saw him at the Swedish West Seattle location which is easy to get to and the offices seem nice enough plus clean. The staff are good about calling with reminders and in general, friendly enough. If I were rating just them (not Dr.Berg's PA) then they'd get at least a three or four.
I was seen for possible migraines (accompanied by teeth pain), I asked him directly "Could these be cause by a tooth infection?" He said "No, absolutely not." - AFTER a clear MRI. He suggested I had "tension headaches"...even after I told him heat/warmth was now instigating them and the ONLY remedy was ice. He told me to put HEAT on my neck. I said, "but I just told you how heat, even a warm bath, instigates these. His response? "Well, I don't know about that." I saw a dentist that day because my pain was so extreme - I had an abscessed tooth, but the pain wasn't localized to just one tooth because of it's location and the severity of infection. He had ordered an MRI for the migraines and a neck scan for the "tension headaches". The neck scan showed a growth on my THYROID and he NEVER TOLD ME. I found out two months later...at the cardiologist's office went I went in for rapid heart rates and difficulty breathing (now I know caused by thyroid and pituitary issue). He did mention an enlarged pituitary gland, but said it was "fine". I asked him what would possible symptoms be if the pituitary became "not fine". He said if I noticed symptoms like spontaneous "lactating" (never had kids). He never mentioned more normal/possible symptoms like low thyroid levels (which I found out again through cardiologist), he never mentioned the thyroid growth. NEVER THOUGHT these two things might be causing a problem, never asked if I had other symptoms. If I hadn't taken myself to a dentist and listened to this quack, I might be dead or in the hospital with a serious infection. Tooth infections can go to your heart and brain. And now I had to go to cardiologist to find out that the thyroid growth and pituitary are infect affecting my health and were causing symptoms at that time that I was just ignoring. If he had looked into the matter, I wouldn't have had to go through a heart monitor, thinking I was having a heart attack, etc because the issue allowed to escalate. http://www.vitals.com/doctors/Dr_William_E_Berg/reviews#ixzz3Hlj8AGRV Please see my review here. This doc is terrible and horribly misdiagnosed me and also neglected to tell me about a growth on my thyroid detected in an MRI. I did not find out till a two months later at the cardiologist's office when I went in for rapid heart rates and trouble breathing.
Very poor experience. No compassion, didn't listen. Told me I "probably slept wrong" and told my family practice I was faking. I went to another dr. who diagnosed me with MS and now I am doing much better with MS disease modifying drug.
Dr. Berg doesn't prepare before he comes in to talk with you. He doesn't' remember what he is doing with you/ medications he has given you from 1 appt to the next. He orders expensive excessive tests to chase a symptom. He ordered a spinal tap for me and didn't try to get results early or call me at all to check. I waited 3 weeks to hear results and that was after I called other doctors to try to help me get results. No compassion. No caring about the patient.
After numerous appointments the doctor overdosed my muscles with Botox. The doctor is a QUACK.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
