I am a 75-year-old male who was referred to Dr. Christopher Dixon for urethra reconstruction and sphincter implant. Dr. Dixon is one of the finest physicians I have known in my 75 years. His knowledge and expertise precedes his fine name. He takes the time to explain the procedures and answers all your questions. My surgery was performed at Lenox Hill hospital in Manhattan on May 31, 2012. I am completely thrilled with the outcome and would recommend Dr. Dixon to all. I was so completely surprised (pleasantly) at the ease of discussing my serious urethral stricture and ballanitis problems with Dr. Dixon-I had already had surgery for this problem several years ago-the results weren't what I had expected at all! Not only did he reconstruct my urethra with a skin graft so there can be no recurrence, he also revised my circumcision, which has been giving me trouble for years, as it wasn't done correctly at birth (I'm in my mid-50's). Dr. Dixon & his staff are very competent, caring health professionals and I am very fortunate to have him as my doctor-he is the very BEST at what he does-you are not rushed, he spends time with only you (no interruptions) during an office visit, and follows up with his patients PERSONALLY after surgery when you are discharged. I live 2 hours away from NYC, and the trip is well worth it to go in to see him for check-ups from time to time. You don't find doctors like Dr. Dixon any more-he is one in a million!! He gave me my quality of life back-I can't thank him enough for all he's done for me!
