List of Ajoy K Roy's Reviews
My husband had an ercp preformed by Dr Roy with complication of perforated duodenum, which is not wholly an unexpected complication. After several hours in Oswego hospital ED he was transferred to Rochester general hospital. I believe I saw Dr Roy in the ED discussing my husbands transfer- he did not come in to see us or have any follow up with my husband.
Outstanding! His staff is very friendly and welcoming. I was Dr. Roy's longest standing patient, with Crohn's disease for more than 20 years. I am not going now because my last surgery worked so well. Dr. Roy was always willing to sit down and talk, answer questions, and consider alternative treatments. His PA Lisa was more of a friend than a doctor! Highly recommended. He listens. He will not recommend surgery unless there is no alternative.
Long story short, I woke up during a surgery and I was strapped down to the table on my stomach with my eyes taped shut and instruments down my throat for the procedure I was having done. Anyway, somehow I managed to alert the doctor, (with a growling type noise) that I was awake. He slapped me on my shoulder, and told me to shut up, he was almost done. The anesthesiologist immediately knocked me out, probably horrified by what he had seen. When they woke me up, the only person left in the room
If you value your life, health and well being you will choose a different GI Dr. He does not investigate, listen or genuinely care about the health and recovery of serious ill patients. He assumes he KNOWS everything and is belligerent to his staff and Residents when they question a situation. It is embarrassing to witness.
I have went to Dr. Roy for over 15 years and have always had excellent care. I have chronic pancreatitis and GERD. He has always seen me whenever I have had a problem. The staff has been friendly and very helpful when needed. I have had several ERCP's due to my pancreatitis. The care from Dr. Roy is done in a caring way and he has answered any questions I have. If you have questions for the doctor just have them written down and he will answer you. I have always been in good hands with Dr. Roy.
I've had severe pain for a year,I told them no repeating test that's all they did, what a money pit.The Dr was poor about explaining anything ,never gave me any answers but see you in 2 months, the staff was very unorganized.
I have had chronic pancreatitis for a long time and nothing has been done about it. I go to Oswego Hospital and they tell me to go to my pcp. My pcp tells me to go to my gastroentrologist and I do and he does nothing.....WHY
I had a nodual in my stomach that was growing he did an endoscopy and said if it grew anymore i would need a biopsy, 2nd endo said it grew but when questioned why he didnt biopsy it he said it was just pancreatic rest and i didnt have to go back to him anymore
Impossible to get in to see the doctor. PAs only. This is a place that just churns out colonoscopies. MISSED MY CELIAC DISEASE. Offered me antidepressants instead. This misdiagnosis led to a delay in care and significant permanent damage to my health. Don't waste your time with this practice.
had surgical procedure scheduled office failed to notify me the procedure cancelled..md out of town.i showed up at hosp at 600am no md. had procedure 1 month later. never saw dr roy prior or post procedure. i ended up with complications and was hospitaltized for 5 weeks. no visit from dr roy. when pcp went to access procedure note, no note dictated 1 month later! dr may be great at what he does but pt connect is terrible!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
