Interventional Pain Management At Syracuse's Online Review Report Card

I have been to this doctor three times for chronic pain in my back, pelvis and legs over the last five months and all he does is meet with me for a few minutes, refer me elsewhere and says to see him again in two or three months. He offers absolutely no pain management solutions and in my view has been a complete waste of my time. When I requested to have my records sent elsewhere the best his office could offer is a two week turnaround time. If you are in chronic pain do not expect it to be treated with any urgency.

After reading the negative reviews I was nervous about going to this practice, but I had a referral from my doctor, so I thought I should give it a try. I had a very different experience than the other reviewers. Not only was the staff very friendly and helpful getting me appointments for future tests, but Dr. Moorthi himself was very friendly and answered all of my questions. He thoroughly examined me, putting me through various neck, arm, and back movements to see what gave me pain and asked me detailed questions about the pain I had been having. The doctor took his time to explain what he thought my problem was and what my treatment would be going forward. He also did not rush into giving me injections, but said we would use those if other treatment, like PT and pain meds, don’t work. I’m glad I gave this practice a chance and formed my own opinion!

To begin, I knew something had to be wrong when I received about five different confirmations of this appointment either through texts or calls. The caller kept asking if I wanted to change my appointment. I should have. On Friday, July 24, 2020, I had the first appointment of the morning. I got along with with the receptionist and the nurse. Moorthi was only in the room approximately one minute, while I was trying to explain my pain, when he abruptly said “YOU DON’T LIKE ME? CAUSE I CAN LEAVE THE ROOM RIGHT NOW!” Needless to say I was highly shocked. I did not know where his attitude was coming from. I kept my voice low and told him that I was only trying to talk about my pain. But that I would keep my mouth closed until he asked me a question. He went through “do this, do that, does this hurt, does that hurt” questions. And I answered no to each one because I was not hurting at the time. Even after this horrible appointment, I told him to have a good day. He grumbled and walked out the room saying nothing further to me. I was dumbfounded to say the least. Unlucky for me, I didn’t read his reviews before going to the appointment. If I had, I would’ve canceled. LUCKY FOR ME I voice recorded the entire conversation. I will be reporting him to the medical board. Please be aware of this horrible, horrible excuse of a doctor.

I came with a friend to Dr. Moorthi’s office. She was getting shots in her neck. I wanted to ask questions about the procedure. He was very rude and refused to give me answers to my questions. I would not recommend this Dr. to anyone. I totally understand why his rating is a one.

Soppose to be a pain management but the doctor says he cant help me then why in the first place would you send me for a shot in my neck and to chiropractor if you thought you couldn't help!!! Never even layed a fingure on me to see where the pain was coming from and then when I give my suggestions I'm wrong!!! Then when going for the procedure he asked me what side was getting the pain again .....like shouldn't you have known where you were going to stick the needle before I told you for the 100 time
