Review Summary
Dr. Roshan Shah received 98.0% positive feedback, with patients praising his excellent surgical skills, caring nature, and professionalism. However, 2.0% of the feedback was negative, primarily citing unfathomably rude front desk staff. Overall, the practice is valued for its expert care but needs to improve billing practices and handle patient concerns better.ScoreDoc Score

List of Roshan P. Shah's Reviews
From my first visit with Dr. Shah, through and including my follow up visits after a full knee replacement, I was met with superb professionalism, knowledge and patience while I asked many questions. Dr. Shah was very attentive and helped me to understand the procedure an he also explained to me what my part in the recovery process would be. I felt calm and prepared before surgery. Dr. Shah's precise skills helped me to walk unaided in two days, and at the two week mark, I was exercising and bending my knee without any pain. Dr. Shah is an outstanding orthopedic surgeon and I am truly lucky that I selected him to perform my full knee replacement.

h. The knees were so bad that he wanted to do double knee replacement the next day. We waited until after the holidays. 1/3/23 I had double knee replacement surgery. Dr Shah told my husband that those were the worse knees he has ever seen. 17 days later with PT and doing what you need to do I am walking with no pain just alittle stiffness and depending on what I am doing just need a cane. I would highly recommend Dr. Roshan Shah.
Dr. Shah is an accomplished orthopedic surgeon who deserves your trust. But not just on the basis of his exceptional technical and medical expertise. Rather, unlike many specialists, who view a patient as a case, he treated me as a whole person; he immediately recognized the lifelong condition, previously undiagnosed, that was the origin of my knee problems. He saw all the cascading effects of that condition that I had been struggling with for decades. I felt more seen and heard than I had ever been by a doctor. As well, he had a vision for how my knee would look post-op and achieved that result, even though the knee problem was more severe than anticipated. I followed his instructions and the outcome, my new knee with an almost invisible scar, is more beautiful than before. In a city with an abundance of excellent orthopedists, Dr. Roshan Shah stands above the rest.
My knee was f'ed up by Dr. @#$*&% at HSS - Horse Sh-t Surgery. Really bad. I had a knee done 2 years ago and in huge pain the whole time. I barely moved enough to sit normally and couldn't get straight. Shah fixed me up. I love this guy. The redo took 3 hours but as soon as I woke up, I could move better than I could in years. I'm building power and have normal motion. Physio is shocked. If you have a bum knee replacement, you will be cured by Dr. Shah.
I just want to first say Dr. Shah is great. Super knowledgeable, warm bedside manner, and he will take his time and not make you feel rushed. However, almost as important are the financials associated with a visit. And here, his office and Columbia fall way short of ANYTHING resembling ethical and reasonable. I was charged nearly 7X(!!) PER x-ray what I would be charged for x rays at another facility like Zwanger. Also, to be clear, I have Cigna PPO, so not some off-shoot insurance policy. And to be clear about one more thing, this has nothing to do with deductible, Columbia bills 7x the amount of everyone else I’ve encountered for these images. I know this because I called around and no place was billing more than $40 for these x-rays with Cigna. Here, I had 3 x-rays done and was billed $200 PER image and was not made aware of this prior. What’s even more repulsive is the front desk and the billing department's response. Unfathomably rude in every regard.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
