List of Kwaku Amankwah's Reviews
Bed side manners are the worst, doesn’t listen to his patients. Because he wouldn’t listen to my issues I had to have surgery a month later with another doctor. Don’t recommend him. He has to many patients to pay attention to.
I’ve had nothing but problems with him and getting appointments. He wouldn’t see me after my surgery and later discharged me as a patient for NO REASON!!!! No missed appointments or anything on my behalf. Other people have had this problem too. This practice is just awful!! I don’t recommend him AT ALL!!!!!! No professionalism at all!! It’s a no wonder people don’t go to Slocum for gynecology anymore. He’s being reported!!!
His STAFF is amazing! Nurses are understanding and knowledgeable. Dr. Amakwah isn’t the greatest. He’s rarely there & is very ROUGH. He unnecessarily raised his voice to me during one of my appointments while I was 6 months pregnant , because he was already upset from something else before coming in. Then before ending it abruptly, as he was checking my stomach he pushed down so HARD I literally jerked from it. ( I’m also very pain tolerant ) never have I seen a doctor act so unprofessional and rude.
Dr Amankwah may be quite and seem off putting to some (not to me) BUT he took me on as a patient a month before I was due with my first child. We ran into some terrifying complications while giving birth but he kept his cool and saved my life. I then moved again and got pregnant with my second child and I drove 3 hours for my appointments and when it came time we set an induction date. Knowing everything that happened the first time he was prepared with the right equipment and staff to help. He did his best to prevent what happened the first time and came prepared to stop my inevitable hemorrhage. I may have been on bed rest an extra day but I was able to walk out on time with my healthy baby. Unlike the first (when we were all unprepared) I was kept 2-3 extra days and had to have a blood transfusion ..I will hands down always go to this man and will recommend anyone to him!!
He apparently doesn't have the time to review a patient's chart or communicate test results. The office is nothing but a cattle call. Find someone else!
Dr Amankwah is a great doctor, very polite and takes his time with his patient, did an amazing job with my c-section
Fantastic!
Dr. Amankwah does not treat his patients with compassion and understanding! When telling him I was in pain all the time and that I now have work restrictions because the pain was starting to give me contractions he stated he doesn’t want to argue and that I have no restrictions! I’m 7 month pregnant with a high risk pregnancy because I had a preterm baby. I have severe back/sciatica pain that puts me into spasms where my toes cramp up and my eyes start twitching and I start having cramping contractions! And he said I have no work restrictions I’m in tears talking to him and he said I’m not arguing with you and walked out of the room!!! I have never been treated like that by a dr. Or anyone for that matter!!! Besides every visit he rushed through it and I could barely explain what I was experiencing because he would just automatically dismiss my concerns! I would never recommend him as a obgyn to anyone!!!!
Dr Amankwah was amazing during both of my cesarean pregnancies. He was both caring and compassionate before and after delivery. It was amazing to have a doctor answer all of my questions in a polite and professional manner. Thank you Dr. Amankwah.
Doctor Amankwah is the best doctor!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
