List of Sheryl Tomack's Reviews
Dr. Tomack is incredibly knowledgeable and a joy to visit. However, her staff is atrocious. In January of 2020 I had gone in for a Pap test. I typically have abnormal cells and need a procedure to get a biopsy done. I was never called back with my results, then when I tried to call for them, the office was closed due to a global pandemic - however I still needed to get those results. Now, I recently had to go for testing and as usual, I had to chase them down for my results. I needed a prescription so it’s concerning that I wouldn’t have gotten a phone call. Then about a month later I start getting calls from the office while I’m working and on zoom calls and can’t answer. When I am able to do so they tell me that I need to update insurance information. I assure them I will call back when I can. Now after work I go home and I have an envelope in the mail from the office half open because it was sent to my address but in Lynbrook instead of Malverne. So it’s safe to assume someone else was able to view my health document. What was inside this envelope was atrocious. I can only describe it as having the appearance of a random note. Loosely taped to the piece of paper is what appear to be the ripped off top of a bill with chicken scratch writing reading, “Call office ASAP. Left messages (they did not) bill will go to collections” I have insurance which they said lapsed in November. It did not. I had asked the incompetent girl at the front desk at my last visit if I needed to provide any information for my copay and she had told me no, I would get it in the mail. I only got the ransom note. I found that my insurance did not lapse but now I have a $365 bill that likely went to collections and I can’t deal with it because it’s the holidays. It’s a shame because I love the doctor but now need to find a new one because her staff is deplorably incompetent.
Dr. Tomack is one of the Top notch in her league. She is courteous, sweet and extremely professional. As far as any issues being mentioned about her practice, that is out of her hands. When it comes to paying employee's they need to show they are worth the time and effort. With a busy office like hers and the high demand of patients wanting to see her, long wait times are to be expected. You want the best, HER time is precious, wait patiently. She spends time with her patients, she gets to know them. Patients are not just Patients, they are people she is responsible for taking care of and that means the WORLD to her. And she is not in control of another human beings attitude or how they conduct themselves. She will always intervene and hear both sides of the story, but guess what unfortunately people can just be nasty. Majority of the time when workers get a little hot headed it is because the patient is being rude, disrespectful and demanding. Sweetie that's not how it works. On the other hand I am not saying that it is ok for a worker to get out of line, but they are allowed to speak up for themselves, you are not allowed to just step all over them. Last thing, if you have never worked in a Physician's office before, you have no idea how stressful it can be. Have patience, be kind and respect the hustle of these amazing women. You can help make their day a little better by just being kind.
If I could give zero stars to this Doctor I would but it’s not an option. I made an appointment last week and went to my scheduled appointment today. I was told the doctor couldn’t see me since I had switched to another practice. I said I haven’t switched to another practice. The receptionist said it says that you switched to Dr. Hasselcorn. I told her that my daughters both switched to that doctor but not myself. Long story short, the doctor refused to see me. I’ve never dealt with such incompetency.
Dr Tomack is wonderful. Thorough, considerate, informative, great bedside manner... I can go on. I am writing this review bc I have had a hard time finding a good enough Gyno bc I have had pretty much mostly bad experiences with most offices. It is hard finding a good one & Dr. Tomack is a gem & her assistant Alyssa is wonderful too. Very happy.
One of the best doctor couldn’t ask for a better one.... she is really amazing....
My daughter attend Dr. Tomack's office for roughly 5 months. During that time she felt Dr. Tomack had good knowledge and she was good, however, her office is another story. They have much to learn about communications and dealing with appointments, handling paperwork deadlines, answering phone calls and returning phone calls. For instance, (1) my daughter was rushed to the hospital and when I called the office, the machine came on and it took Dr. Tomack's office two days to return the call; (2) when trying to call the office, its either no answer or busy signal; (3) When forwarding documentation to various needed places, it takes them two weeks +; (4) missing deadline procedures such as the Glucose test supposed to be done before the 27th week of pregnancy, my daughter is in her 27th week now. Her appointment to have it done was September 21th however, it was cancelled not giving her another date because Dr. Tomack was apparently on vacation. They scheduled this knowing that Dr. Tomack would not be available. When I was finally able to contacted the office, I was given excuses upon excuses. In the interim, I was told they would send a script for her to attend a lab for the test, which never happened; (5) my daughter was not able to speak to the doctor directly in most cases. I believe if your administration staff is not professional and courteous, it displays how the Doctor maintains their practice in a whole. While Dr. Tomack maybe knowledgeable at what she does because of her administration, I will not let my daughter nor her unborn, nor my money have any further dealings with this unprofessional and inconsiderate practice.
Both Dr Tomack and Dr McManus are very caring and awesome doctors. I thank both of them for delivering my twin girls 7 years ago.
I love this doctor is too friendly.
She is just the BEST hands down !!!!
I've been calling over 3 weeks for results of test. front desk wouldn't let me talk to dr. first time I call she says there was no report yet. I call 3 days later she tells me she called and left me a message the day I had called. I asked her how is that possible if I called just before closing and you told me there was no report. she said oh yeah I remember and she would leave a message for the doctor to call me.. I just called again because haven't heard from the doctors office, I asked to speak with the doctor and was told I couldn't and she would call me when she becomes available when ever that is. a doctors office is as good as its staff. the staff is rude and unhelpful! I've been seeing doctor tomack for 8 years now. I never had issues in the past so the new staff must be problem!! its hard to make appointments, and you always have to call 3-4 times before someone answers the phone. and when they answer they answer putting you on hold right away.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
