David Antecol's Online Review Report Card

"DR". Anticol stopped monitoring my ICD without any type of written or verbal notification. I haven't actually SEEN him for MANY YEARS. Frankly, I don't even know if he is alive.

Excellent all around. Seen 3 cardiologists, 2 in NYC – Dr. Antecol was the best one I’ve seen – nice guy, takes his time, answers questions. Actually did a physical examination on me! First time a Dr. has laid hands on me in years. I think my former GP did that once in all the times I’d seen him. Dr. Antecol said he didn’t go to NYC to open a practice because they told him he was a too nice of a guy – wouldn’t survive in NYC. I agree - glad we have him in Watertown.

I wish 0 stars was an option. Dr. David Antecol told me that I did not need to be followed during my pregnancy or delivery. I am a congenital heart patient and have been told my entire life that I needed to be watched closely. I have had three heart surgeries in five years, fixing something that could have been prolonged if I was monitored correctly.

This doctor was supposedly consulted during my ER visit, and my insurance tells me it is stated in the report that he was called in, but when I call for an appointment the office help tells me he has never heard my name. The referral forwarded was stat, I get an appointment almost two month out. I have been trying to do this since Friday, when I was told, when I get the referral there, I will get an appointment. A referral faxed from my insurance needs the approval of person that is not in today, call back tomorrow afternoon? I was under the impression the referral was permission. She said she’ll call me back in a few minutes…day and a half later, still nothing. Definitely something weird going on here… Is this more of the same from Samaritan scheduling, who all seem to be taking some kind of perverse pleasure in stringing you along, or is there something more nefarious going on?

When it comes to cardiology not everyone is happy to see the doctor. I was happy when the clinic called with my appointment to see Dr. David Antecol. I was nervous to begin with but Dr Antecol broke the ice with no problem. The staff was able to put myself at ease and I was able sit in the waiting room looking around. Within minutes of setting down they called me back. He introduced himself and I was very glad to meet him. He was willing to take time to explain everything that he was going to do for me. Dr Antecol removed all nervous feelings while talking with him. All the medications were explained and any test, as I had a Heart monitor for 5 days, a PET, and last ECHO. The staff in the Clinic are the best. I could not find any thing thatwould decrease anyone’s competency. I would recommend Dr Antecol and his staff to everyone.

But he's very clearly pushing an agenda. He reccomended several websites, all of which were pro veganism sites for "healthy living" and claimed that meat and dairy were part of a food industry conspiracy that couldn't claim their products were "nutritious" and, in face, were played big parts in causing cancer. Very strange to show a patient before even being able to give them a proper diagnosis.

I went in for help with heart issues after massive pulmonary embolisms, but was instead suggested that becoming a vegetarian / vegan would be a cure all. I was asked nothing of dietary intake to analyze anything & the dr just wrote down I consume excess calories based upon meeting me. It is entirely unprofessional to assume upon meeting without discussion what one's diet / intakes are based on your face value. Doctors should be highly professional and analyze data and facts before jumping to conclude. Nothing was really about my heart at the primary appointment, he kept harping about not eating meat. Mind you, their "meet your Dr" on the website also boasts that he's a vegetarian, nothing like pushing your lifestyle values onto your patients.

I was referred to another doctor in the practice, but Dr. Antecol had an opening right away. This man was the nicest man! He took the time to listen to me and talk to me, which many doctors do not do. He reccomended that I do some reading about plant based diets and we actually talked about what I had read on follow up appointments. I have never had a doctor spend so much time with me. I was very sad when I no longer needed to see him.

Clearly, Dr. Antecol has an excellent work ethic and is on the cutting edge of medical technology and treatment regimes for many forms of heart disease. He uses a holistic approach which includes a Vegan or Vegetarian diet as a means of reducing weight, cholesterol, and toxins in your body. The facility is new and everything is super clean. The support staff at the office are willing to go the extra mile in helping you meet your healthcare needs. I recommend Dr. Antecol without hesitation.
