Walter Dodard's Online Review Report Card

I have seen Dr. Dodard for about 6 months and never had any problems with him. He has answered all my questions and explained everything. When I saw these bad reviews I was surprised so today during my visit I asked him about it. He was very kind and explained that he have an honest way of communicating, but he cares deeply about his patients and it shows. I like knowing my doctor will tell me things as it is, but he has also console me when I have needed it. Getting healthy is a two way street: the doctor does his part but I have to do mine as well. I knew he will advocate for me but at the same time if im not doing my part he will redirect my steps.

Dr. Dodard is very professional, he answered all my questions without rushing himself or our time during the appointment.

I have been seeing Dr. Dodard for 7 years and have never been impressed with him. I voiced concerns of a hormonal imbalance so his midwife had me do blood work. When I came in to go over the results he was more upset that his midwife had run tests to try and help me than he was about my concerns. He confirmed my imbalance, but offered no suggestions as to what I should do about it. Basically told me to deal with it. Has absolutely no bedside manner or compassion. Will be looking for a new OB.

My wife had our daughter and a hysterectomy with this guy as our Dr. thankfully he didn't do delivery yet unfortunately he provided zero aftercare instructions and zero medicine for recovery of her hysterectomy. If I treated his wife like he treated mine, ( like spaying a dog) I'm sure he wouldn't be giving up 5 stars either.

Dr. Dodard delivered my baby VIA C-section almost exactly one year ago. Every nurse I met made excuses for him. “He’s an excellent *surgeon.* Ignore his bedside manner.” They were exactly right. My c section scar looks great, but I am in therapy to help me process my traumatic birth that he absolutely made more difficult and painful. He was cold, absent, abrupt, hurt my feelings deeply over several instances, and pushed me into having an unnecessary c-section. Which he performed excellently.

Not the friendliest, and refused teenager birth control.

Can't afford hrt. I suffer everyday. The receptionist was very nice but I can't afford to keep coming in to be told that my only option is something that I absolutely can't afford. I was willing to get other hrt medication names and figure out prices but I refuse to pay them just to be told again that there's nothing else they can do. I don't recommend and will not be back.

My 17 yo ended up in the ER because of severe abdominal pain. Initially it was thought to be her appendix. Once blood tests were run, they knew it wasn’t her appendix, so they did an ultrasound and found a very large (9cm) polycystic ovarian mass. Dr Dodard was on call that night so that’s who we were referred to for care. When I called to set up an appointment they couldn’t get us in for a full month. No exceptions, even for emergent need. I called the office I usually go to and they talked to their on-call doctor and he said my child should not have to be in pain and to bring her in now and he’d see her and this way we could set up surgery for the following week.

I was really appalled and offended by how I was treated by one of the staff members who answer the phones. Last Monday I was in the ER for possible ectopic pregnancy with an IUD in, which is life threatening. I called to schedule a follow up with this office & was told the earliest they could get me in was Dec 6th. I was back in the ER a few days later with pain & bleeding and was advised to see an ob as soon as possible. I called this office again to find out if I could get in any earlier per the request of the ER doctor, and the woman who answered the phone told me I wasn’t even scheduled on the 6th and I was scheduled January 18th, and was SO insensitive and rude about it, questioning my ability to write down a correct appointment in my schedule. I said “no, I’m scheduled the 6th”. Eventually after back and forth and her being rude I hung up. I’m already emotional and upset obviously that I find out I’m pregnant and then that it’s extopic, whoever takes these phone calls should have a little more empathy and concern for patients!!!!

no bedside manor, saw the mid wife for all of my prenatal appointments, and had the doctor for my delivery. very unprofessional, uncaring, and rough. strongly recommend switching providers if you go to this office.
