List of Afshan Samad's Reviews
The first and last time I met Dr. Samad was while I was in labor at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY with my first child. I’m my experience, she was cold, harsh, and rude. She came into my room when I was in the early stages of pushing and declared to the entire room (without even introducing herself to me or my husband) that, “If you don’t hurry this labor up we’re going to have to do an emergency c-section on you!” And as she said it she was pounding her hands together in a “let’s go” kind of way. In the midst of a very traumatic situation, she somehow made it 100 times worse. It’s like she was trying to scare me. In my opinion, that’s the LAST thing you need when giving birth. She was terrible and the nursing staff knew it too. They were very apologetic about it so I know this was definitely not a one-time incident with Dr. Samad.
She will not listen to you. She will dismiss your concerns. She is unempathic and will not tell you anything, and to top it off. If you don't like the way she treats you she will boot you from the practice on a whole. So if you want to complain it won't be taken seriously. Avoid her like the plague.
She is very compassionate and caring. If you have Medicare though office orders tons of tests that are not covered. Now i have many medical bills. So if you have Medicare goto Planned Parenthood or your Primary(if they do them) to have paps, unless you have $500 to pay outta pocket or more.
I really like her. Shes been my doctor for about 8 years. She is knowledgeable and thorough, straightforward but still sweet.
If I could give them no stars, I would. I was reccomended by a friend who saw Litler while she was still at this practice, but she had left by time I called as a new patient. I ended up seeing Dr. Constantine for both of my pregnancies. First was a miscarriage. Not only does he make you wait an hour in the room just for a 10 minute appointment, but he is probably the worst dr I've ever seen in my life . Rude beyond belief, doesn't listen to what you have to say or care about your feelings or opinions... just likes to hear himself talk and will raise his voice over you to shut you up. I hope this review helps other females out there so you never have to deal with the stress I did going to him. Not to mention, the office staff at the Lancaster office is just as bad as him. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
The office staff is very efficient and friendly. I’ve been to the Orchard Park and Lancaster locations and have never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room or in the exam room. Dr. Samaad thoroughly explains everything before the exam as well as counsels you regarding any abnormal findings. I went to my previous GYN for 15 years and was very comfortable with him. He relocated a couple of years ago, giving his patients no notice that he would be closing his practice. I am so glad I followed a friend’s recommendation to transfer my care to Dr Samaad.
Long story short she tricked me into a meeting I didn’t want/need and told me to stop crying when I was having a miscarriage.
I was 5 weeks pregnant with my first baby. We found out that the pregnancy was ectopic. She kept trying to have me come in “for a meeting” so we can discuss the results. I was distraught and educated and I knew what I needed to know. I decided that I wanted to get the shot to dissolve the pregnancy and not risk my tube. She made me an appointment. When I got there it wasn’t an appointment to get the shot. It was the meeting. That I didn’t want. She cheerily asked me “how are you” as she walked in while my face was streaked with tears. She explained what I already knew. I told her I didn’t want to talk. I just wanted the shot so I can go home. She explained that I can’t get the shot today we were just talking today and I can come in Monday to get the shot. Then she asked me why I was crying and proceeded to tell me to stop crying because “you’re young, you can try again” as if that negated the fact that I was losing a much wanted baby. Then I received a letter a week later from the practice saying that I had been “released from the practice” with no explanation as to why.
My experience with Dr. Samad was negative when I saw her to determine if my water had broken during my first pregnancy. I found her bedside manner to be demeaning, dismissive, harsh, painful, abrupt, and disrespectful so much so that I asked her to stop touching me and for another care provider to take her place. I would not recommend her services for OBGYN care and would refuse her care for future pregnancies. I have spoken with the care providers at OBGYN of WNY regarding my concerns.
I’m so thankful to Dr. Samad for delivering my healthy, happy baby boy. Her expertise and calmness helped me through difficult decisions and made for an overall positive experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
