List of Amy Lynn Wnek's Reviews
I am really pleased with my first appointment with Dr. Wnek. There was almost no wait time. She came in prepared. Asked all the right questions and ordered further testing. Even if the testing doesn’t show anything, I am very grateful she ordered it. Excellent experience. Thank you.
I've been with Dr. Wnek for a few years now. She has a cool demeanor but she is a great doctor. I have never felt judged or unheard by her. Being a type 1 diabetic with not the greatest control, I run into that sometimes. She answers my questions in a clear and concise manner. Wait times used to be horrible but seems to have gotten better since the move to Southgate. I also really like Betsy, the nurse practitioner. Megan takes care of me now and I've never been in better hands. All in all I'm happy with my care here.
Best doctor ever! Helped me through gestational diabetes and proposed to monitor me after my pregnancy to stay on the right side of the A1C. Great care with Dr Wnek
I’ve heard Dr. Wnek is excellent in the field. However her bedside manner and condescending current treatment of patients is incredibly frustrating. Expect to be a number on a page and you know very little about your prognosis or her thoughts on treatment. 2 1/2 years went by with nothing but bloodwork and numbers every six months. In my frustration I track down a nurse to find out if anything is being done because I have so many symptoms. I got dropped from the practice that left me without a physician in the middle of a car accident.
Saw 7 endos before Amy and she was the 1st to ever provide me with a necessary Epi-pen for emergency life threatening events or crisis. I have a rare disease, Addisons. When she did this I knew i had a Physician who cared about me. She listens to me, she lets me help with treatment options, she asks me everytime hows my family doing. She sees me when I am running late to my appointment she make sure I get the right care. Not a better Endo than Amy in WNY and ive tried many.
Best Endo in WNY kind listens accomodating understand my condition. 1st endo out of 6 ive seen to give me an Hydro Epi-pen. When running late she still sees me. She lets me ask questions and allows me to help adjust my care. She is the best in WNY.
Best endo in wny. Ive seen 6 endos prior to Amy and all quacks. Amy was 1st Endo to script an Epi-pen for my Adrenal insufficiency care, a rare disease. When she did thid I knew then I had a good one, someone who really cared about me and my condition. She listens, lets me assist with my condition, very professional doesnt bullshit strictly remains focused on my care. Accomodating when im running late, asks me about my family and always how am i doing. Its hard to find a diamond in the rough physician in healthcare especially in WNY and Amy is that diamond in Endocrinology.
Between 6 and 3 month wait for visit, then 2 hour wait in office for a 5 minute visit. Doesn't not address concerns even with life threatening condition. No patient care. Extremely disappointed.
I have seen Dr Wnek 3 times and she was ok. Not very talkative so it's hard to get a good relationship going with her. I tried her nurse practitioner Loraine Ippolito today and had the WORST experience ever! I will never go back there again. The staff are all very nice there. Dr Wnek is nice ( just very quite) however, Loraine was anything but nice. She was combative, jumped to conclusions without allowing me to discuss my concerns, did not care to listen to my concerns, she was dismissive, she argued with me. I waited over an hour to be seen and that was the least problematic issue with my visit! She told me to see a dermatologist if I was concerned about my hair loss because I was " putting all my eggs in a basket " assuming it had to do with my thyroid and when I explained I did she asked what they suggested, she said she didn't agree with the supplements they suggested. She told me not to get my hair colored every 8 weeks because it could be contributing to my hair loss. When I explained my hair is not breaking but falling out she suggested it was my age. I am 50 not 70😡. I immediately called my dermatologist to all what to do and she called Loraine to soak with her to find out about the supplements ( wick by the way were just a biotin supplement basically) and she was rude to my dermatologist as well. What a terrible provider!!!
Usually there is a long wait. She is not very personable and usually wants in and out so if you have aan questions good luck. She seems to be there to put a band aid on it but wants out fast.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
