Carlos A. Santos's Online Review Report Card

Argued with me about the position of my baby (he was wrong, I was right) which inevitably ended in a cesarean. Google his name - he has had several cases for negligence brought before him and was suspended awhile back for inappropriate communication with a patient.

Dr. Santos was extremely aggressive during my wife's delivery. In my opinion, he performed an unnecessary and uncommon episiotomy on my wife. Her OB told her that the only tyine an episiotomy is performed these days is in a medical emergency. This was not the case with my wife. The delivery was going great and Dr. Santos decided to cut my wife without explaining why or even telling us he was going to do it. Afterwards he didn't even refer to the procedure as an episiotomy but called it a 2nd degree. I think Dr. Santos thinks feels he is above delivering babies since he is the president of the practice. Nurses at the hospital informed us that he rarely delivers but due to other doctors recently leaving his practice, that he fills in once in a while. He wanted to be in and out of the delivery room as quickly as possible and now my wife has a longer and more painful recovery.

ENDOMETRIOSIS SUFFERERS BEWARE/AVOID** I had a diagnostic laparoscopy performed by Dr. Carlos Santos in January. He told me and my boyfriend that he found cysts that he "removed", as well as Endometriosis and my organs needed to be sterilized due to free blood in my abdomen. My surgical report didnt mention any blood in my abdomen. My medical records did not mention anything about my specific symptoms. When I asked for my records I was initially told they didnt have to give them to me.... When I asked that they provide me with the accurate records and questioned why the blood was not mentioned in the surgical report, I was told I needed to write a letter stating what I wanted my medical records to say... I was forced onto Lupron being told it could be a cure and that no other good treatment existed. Refused to correct my records and then dropped me as a patient, mid treatment. Did NOT remove my cysts, only cauterized them and another surgeon removed them in April. AVOID AVOID

I have been a patient of Dr Santos since 2002. I drive a distance to stay under his care. He is not aggressive and delivers babies. He delivered all my births and seen me for the entire pregnancies. Very patient, knowledgeable, and choices the less invasive method. He is well respected for his knowledge, skill treatment of his patients. He actually cares about us. Knows are history even with all the patients he sees. Listening to nurses gossiping saying he does not deliver is fiction not fact. Truely unprofessional for nurses to be talking this way. He treats all conditions and does other surgeries too. Every time I am having a procedure, checkup, surgery all the staff respect him as a top rated professional and caring person. His patients are his priority and explains, comforts, and skill is top rated. Sorry you had a unpleasant experience. I would never want anyone but Dr. Santos or his staff. He is fast, efficient and a class act. Caring and compassionate.

I originally became a patient of Dr. Santos in my early 20's. I remained a patient of his from the original W.Seneca office to its' current location in Orchard Park, on Orchard Park Rd. At the age of 40 & 42, he personally followed me through two pregnancies. The first being a routine vaginal delivery, which turned into a C-section, after a slow 40 hour labor, with post surgical issues. My second child was a scheduled C-section, with anesthetic allergies. Both times he performed the deliveries, with professionalism and care. His follow-up treatment for lingering issues was by far outstanding in my opinion. Life had thrown me plenty of curve balls following the birth of my children. After 9 years of absence from being a patient at the practice, (by my own doing), I returned today. Considered as a new patient. I had to reschedule my appointment twice due to personal reasons and the office staff was courtesy and understanding. I was able to get an appointment for a longer visit, with no issues. Dr. Santos spent a great deal of time, not only going over personal concerns, but physical ones as well. His exam was thorough, his attention was devoted and his diligence to order all the tests I needed in order to have some issues answered. I may be biased after 34 years.... BUT, I wouldn't and couldn't have wanted a better OB/GYN.

Dr Santos is AWESOME! Love him and his head nurse Nicole! I had 3 high risk complicated pregnancies and 1 miscarriage and his office was understanding, compassionate and very professional! Called me at home to check on me after hours. Truely was a blessing during my pregnancy! Was not to happy with his PA though. I believe she was a PA, she did not listen to me and the few times I met her I felt as if I was being judged by the way she acted towards me. Also one time I had to see Dr Brian Smith when Dr Santos was not available. I was not happy with Dr Smith, he was totally unprofessional and rude. Never waited long when I had my appts. Office is Clea. And I fully recommend Dr Santos!!!! 5 stars for sure!!

These people are rude, inconsiderate, and very know it alls! I have hated coming here (after 25 years) because of the treatment by Andrea, who thinks she owns the place! She needs to brush up on her customer service skills...no wonder there is such a turnover in that dept.
