Before even meeting the doctor, we noticed that the staff was unfriendly and barely communicated with us. we waited forever between tests without any updates, and when I indicated to the echocardiogram tech that my child had anxiety, he made fun of her for it. Dr. Ferris was condescending, asked me personal questions about my own healthcare decisions (that were unrelated to my child’s health), and then advised my child to encourage me to make different healthcare decisions. (I’m trying to be vague here, but I embrace a more natural approach to health care that involves healthy eating, exercise and avoiding unnecessary medications.) I was taken aback that the doctor crossed that line. Her blanketed, one size fits all approach to health care was not what we were looking for.

Dr Ferris saw our daughter for a period post surgery. It was during a period where we were grappling with what caused our daughter's issue. Dr. Ferris brought to our attention a similar situation with another patient 10 years ago and offered us a possible path forward, including a specialist. There are never certainties, but "if this, then maybe that" can be invaluable for parents looking for a better sense and strength. Thank you Dr. Ferris.

I can’t express enough what Dr. Ferris means to our family. We went to NYP-Columbia University emergency room with our 4 month old son with a VSD in his heart. He was not breathing well and not gaining weight. He eventually ended up having open heart surgery. This women works diligently, with integrity and strength. He communicated with us all the way.
