List of Montefiore Medical Center Ipa's Reviews
I am currently a rehab patient staying here after bilateral knee surgery. The physical therapists are wonderful however the nursingstaff are beyond horrible and I feel uncared for and unsafe here. Today, I started to run a fever at 4pm this afternoon and spoke with multiple nurse aids who took my temperature which was consistently climbing and they relayed it to the nurse in charge. when the nurses switched shifts at 7 PM the nurse responsible for me came in and said she was very very busy this evening taking admissions and that even though they figured out I had an infection and needed antibiotics I am sitting here at 10:20 and no one has come back to my room. I had such high hopes for this place but now, I can’t wait to leave here as soon as possible.
I spent 4 weeks at Burke as a result of a severe accident. The PT staff is exceptional and did wonders for my recovery for which I will forever be deeply grateful. Some of the nursing staff however, often seemed uninterested and very inattentive towards most of their patients and often times irritated by their requests. It was very difficult to get a quick response or solution for anything. However, what most scared me was my experience with some of the nurses’ aides. I am a 48 year old woman who had spent 4 months hospitalized and all that time without a shower.Once I arrived at Burke, I had already spent 3 weeks at another rehab center and had learned how to shower by myself and did so daily without a problem. However at Burke, the rule apparently was once a week. I explained my case and pleaded to be able to shower daily since they only thing that needed to be done was to be wheeled to the shower and back to my room-since it was with the shower chair. I didn’t need help to shower nor get dressed afterwards. I was constantly ignored, very often humiliated and a few times cussed at, for my requests/pleads to be taken to the shower.I was always mindful of asking ahead of time and during times that were not busy.To have such a simple request of being wheeled to the shower become such an emotional act, has continued to haunt me, despite having left Burke over a year ago.As a woman menstruating for much of my time at Burke and sweating profusely during very estrenuos PT sessions as well as after having spent four months unable to shower. Asking to be wheeled to a shower, be left there and then wheeled back to the room, should not have become a war nor such a dehumanizing act as it did, with no interest from the nurses to get involved or lend a hand to resolve.I truly hope that the nursing staff never find themselves in such a situation where they will need to depend on someone else as dehumanizing as it all feels. Most of the nursing and aide staff at Burke should re-evaluate why they picked their profession and whether they want to continue dehumanizing those of us who already feel helpless and depend on others.
Said my friend a had behavior problems because, she did not want to leave hospital because, oxygen wasn't working. TheyShould be out of business!
The staff were outstanding!!!! Made my stay there wonderful. I can’t thank them enough!!!!
Safety and cleanliness seem to be a priority here, which is hoped for regarding the care of our love ones. However, communication leaves something to be desired. Call ahead of your visit to ensure there aren't any arbitrary "rules" in place that aren't explicitly stated on their website (like one visitor per patient per day) that may prevent you from seeing a loved one in the small windows of time allotted.
The best hospital! They helped Naci with everything 2 years ago! She did a lot of work there and it made her better! She’s the best and hopefully she can get back there cuz she needs a lot of help. She’s in the hospital now.
A beautiful McKim Mead & White Hospital in White Plains, NY
When asked what are my 3 choices for Acute Rehab for my Dad I said Burke, Burke and Burke. They are the Gold standard in which everyone follows. From the Rehab to House keeping everything is through and you are kept in the loop communication wise which is important when your not able to visit. I was also impressed that the staff most always say hello and ask how my Dad was doing. My Dad came in a wheel chair and left walking thanks to the dedication of the Burke staff.
So Burke is only in it for money. You have to be Medicaid or rich to go there. The county taxes are highest in the country but once you are sick forget about you.Dont go to Epic in WP they ignore you.Very disappointed with the way citizen's are treated in Westchester. Time to move out.
Have been a pt. at Burk several times. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. It's the best rehabilitation hospital around. They will work you hard and get you back on your feet as soon as possible. I highly recommend it.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
