Dr. Sommer is absolutely amazing. His education and experience is second to none but it does not stop there. Dr. Sommer is a gentleman and has an incredible bedside manner. I am always quite hesitant to trust others. However, I had no problem trusting Dr. Sommer. He saved my life and was so caring and patient with me. Barbara his nurse practitioner is also brilliant. I was blown away with her in depth knowledge and experience. She helped me every step of the way and was so responsive. I could not have asked for a better team to take care of me. I feel so lucky to be a patient of Dr. Sommer.

5 years Dr. Sommer repaired a pfo in my heart. As I look back I continue to be so impressed with his confidence in his ability and also his confidence in the procedure and is also so humble and kind. I have been fine ever since. I feel so blessed to have been cared for by him. He will always be one of my favorite people.

I am 57years old and needed a PFO repair. During my initial visit to Dr.Sommer's office I was so appreciative that Barbara R and Dr. Sommer explained everything, didn't rush, answered my questions, I walked away feeling so comfortable. Yesterday my PFO was repaired, I was in excellent hands and can't rave enough about the care that I received. Thank you to all the nurses, technicians and Dr.Sommer!

I can’t say enough good things about this doctor. I saw Dr Sommer to discuss having a PFO closure after having a TIA(which was my second). He and his staff spent a great deal of time with me, listening to my full history as well as explaining the procedure in full. Absolutely amazing human who happens to be a fantastic clinician and surgeon. When you have the surprise of your life and have to address a large congenital heart defect at age 45...you count your blessings everyday for Dr. Sommer!!

I had a cryptogenic stroke in the setting of a PFO Dr. Sommer did a PFO closure for me quick and painless, his NP Barbara is also extremely astute and caring.

At age 65 I was found to have a hole in my heart. My cardiologist sent me to Dr. Sommer, and I cannot say enough good things about my experience having a PFO closure with Dr. Sommer. He has a terrific bedside manner and made the entire experience easy and almost a "non-event". He was available for questions and concerns following the procedure and always took the time to make sure that I understood what was happening. His follow-up appointments were always quick and easy. Highly recommend.
