List of John G. Fahrbach's Reviews
I had neck surgery done and after going into the office complaining in pain over and over they ignored me saying my x-rays and MRIs are fine then I go in again and this time the Dr saw me and he said yes I have another disc bulge or herniation below where he did surgery. He told me this after 3 appts with the lady lying to me and me not giving up. Then tells me I should go for a nerve ablasion when he is the 1 that made my neck worse. I'm 34 and in excruciating pain. Can't even move my head somedays and my neck burns so bad just to drive. He made my neck worse. My hands aren't going numb anymore and that's the ONLY good thing that came out of this but now I'm stuck in severe pain and on pain meds to make it thru the day the rest of my life because apparently no one can help me and I refuse to let this man ruin me again. My neighbor also went to UB. Different doctor and she's has 3 surgeries to try to correct what they messed up in the 1st surgery and she's now almost immobile and my mom had a cage put in by Dr Fahrbach and her neck pain is worse too and she had to go in for another surgery to get fixed from their mistakes 1st surgery and the 2 d surgery didn't help her either. Always get a second opinion! And don't do surgery unless you have no other option! Once they do surgery then your nothing to them unless you go in for another surgery to be ruined more. Hope I helped someone save their body! I won't waste my time trying to have them help me again specially when so many others are going thru the same because of this office and this DR. They just want my money and to tell me I'm fine when really they made me worse! Pain is unbearable, and I have nowhere that I trust to turn to after how this office disregarded the fact that I have another herniation after 3 visits finally admit it and say they can't do anything. Big waste now my neck is super weak and in pain more than it was before
I am very grateful to Dr Fahrbach. I suffered with low back spasms for several years. He was kind and compassionate and explained everything. I also appreciated his staff. I would recommend him and I would go back to him in the future.
There aren't really enough words I can think of, but efficient, kind, caring, down to earth, full of integrity might be enough. I was terrified of having surgery, but they (doctor and staff) put me at ease and I'm healing very well. My cousin referred me to him because she had surgery with him. He's a great doctor, and I really can't say that about many other doctors.
Top notch Removed a cyst from my spine. Explained options and provided recommendation. Treated great from initial consultation to recovery. Very responsive and personable.
Failed 2 level lumbar fusion resulting in permanent nerve damage. Have seen a pain specialist ever since for back pain sand RSD and spinal stimulator. This failed surgery has changed my entire life...
Bad experience from a 2 level lumbar fusion. Never fused and ended up with permanent nerve damage. Still am treated by a pain specialist to this day for back pain and RSD and spinal stimulator.
When I 1st met him he seemed caring and sincere.
I only had one visit with Dr. Fahrbach which we discussed with very detail the back surgery. I was already scheduled for hip surgery, so he wanted to see me in 6 weeks to further discuss but I never saw him again. I saw his PA who was very good at ordering unnecessary procedures. After they were deemed unproductive she stated in order to go through with the surgery I would need to redo the MRI and e-ray in addition to a bone density to see if the bones could withstand the screws needed for the surgery. After doing all this I still do not see the doctor and was told by the assistant that the Dr. no longer thinks the surgery would be helpful but that there was another more involved surgery that could help but that my disease was not severe enough. I was totally dismissed by the assistant. In fact, I am not even sure dr. Fahrbach even sae the test results as Marissa Phillips told me that she reviewed the tests then left the room to tell me she reviewed the test results again. I am not confident is an assistant reviewing my results. It is one thing to order the test and it is totally different to have an untrained employee interpret the results of said testing. She showed me on my MRI the difference between a healthy disc and mine and even with my untrained eye I could see the opening nearly completely closed up. Yet I still don't get to see the doctor or ask questions on why he changed his opinion or why we had to redo the same tests that were originally within 6 months if he didn't think it would be helpful. It appears that he doesn't want to see patients since I only saw him once with multiple visits and that he allows his employees to order procedures and tests without a reason behind it I am really disappointed as I trust my referring neurologist, but they are squeezing me in to refer me to a qualified dr who actually wants to help rather than run up costly bills
Was a total waste of my time, money and health. Adter 6 months, the only thing accomplished was unnecessary tests and procedures that were quite costly. After 6 months and only seeing him once I ws told by his assistant that the original surgery would no longer be helpful. even though that opinion was different than the original. No I am in the process of get a new referral from my neurologist as he belives the procedure was unnecessary. According to his assistant there is another surgery, but it is more involved, and she doesn't think my disease is severe enough. Never got to see Dr. Fahrbach after initial consult. Not sure if his skill set is not up to par for the more involved surgery but I was strung along for almost 7 months. He or should Isay his assistant was never even close to the appointment time. Most times it was approximately 45 minutes to an hour late. I good not in good conscience recommend this dr or practice.
This was my 4th back surgery, my first one with Dr Fahrbach. He is the most kind, caring doctor and an excellent surgeon. For almost 6months to a year my right leg was feeling tremendous pressure from prior surgeries. I could not walk even 50 feet without my leg feeling like it would blow up with pounding pressure. He did a same day micro discectomy at L4/5 due to compressed nerve tissue from a rupture at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. I am 4 months post op and I am able to walk 40 minutes a day. Dr Fahrbach and his team Marissa included are a God send! Thank you for giving me back my life!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
