I was very comfortable and calm having surgery knowing Dr. Gibbons is an excellent, experienced surgeon and that I would be well cared for.

Being one of the commenters here previously, I did have to have a revision surgery ,after having multiple appointments and pain went to a new UBMD surgeon and had 3 level fusion . After one year of surgery feeling much better and will never recommend going back to this office again. Much better atmosphere as well! The new surgeon found that the instrumentation (some new device) that he used never fused and slippage took place after five years. I figured he got paid once and was’nt going to give him another down payment on a new vehicle.

I saw Dr. Gibbons for neck pain and it turned into needing a full disc replacement between C4-C5. It has been about 1 month shy of a year since I've had the surgery and I could not be happier with his work. The scar, on the front/side of my neck, is barely visible and he was available at all times to answer my questions or concerns. I would absolutely recommend him to anytone.

I'd give 0 stars if I could. I left my appointment with Dr Kevin Gibbons crying so hard I developed a nose bleed. I was devastated when he dismissed the connection between my neurological issues and my rare disease - worse he questioned the established diagnosis of that rare disease (telling me it's so rare it's unlikely I actually have it). The worst was when he told me the specialty testing regarding my 2 conditions was a scam for profit and any results wouldn't be "clinically actionable".

I left my appointment with Dr Kevin Gibbons crying so hard I developed a nose bleed. Dr Gibbons may be knowledgeable in some aspects of his field, but I was devastated to find him dismissive of the connection between my neurological issues and my rare disease - even worse was his questioning the diagnosis of that rare disease (telling me it's so rare it's unlikely I actually have it). The clincher was when he told me the specialty testing, recommended by top specialists in the world regarding the combination of my two conditions, was actually a scam for the doctors to make a profit, and in his words "wouldn't be clinically actionable" even if there was a significant change in my results. The worst was when I diplomatically tried to change to a different NS in the practice, and was told that it's against practice policy -- so I either see the doctor who was dismissive and rude to me, or find someone else to help me. Out of the entire experience, the only people who seemed to care about me were the nurses and front desk staff.

My first neck surgery removed c5-c6 and discs from c4 to c7 failed were he screw the plate in to c7 bone chip went on to my Nerves in my left arm lost all arm function had to go for two more surgerys to remove c7 had to go through front and back of my neck to install plates and rods not a good experience DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DR hospital stay was the worst stay ever all three shifts had to wait 12 hour just to get a tumms this dr sent me to all his dr gave very low % WILL COST YOU LOTS OF MONEY

Although Dr Gibbons is a top notch surgeon, and I trust his expertise, goof luck trying to actually see the Dr himself. Even before and after a 3 level acdf where my spinal cord was deformed and I had myelopathy in my arms, hands and feet, and continuing nerve pain after the surgery, I never saw him. I was scheduled with his PA every time. His staff is short and rude and the hospital stay was absolutely the worst care I've ever received. If you go with this Dr, be sure to insist on visits with him directly, and don't be left alone in the hospital at Buffalo General where he operates. I was left alone, vomiting in a hard collar, without assistance after ringing the nurse bell for over an hour with uncontrolled pain. After surgery, be aware you will be disregarded with any long term care. Apparently after a 3 level acdf with radicular pain for over a year, you "shouldn't have any pain" after only 3 weeks after surgery....according to his nurse. He may operate on football players, but that doesn't mean you are going to get great care. I'm glad he was the one performing this serious surgery on my spine, but really wish the approach to care had been better. It was a terrible time in my life, made worse because I wasn't informed and treated correctly. A real shame.....

Saw dr once after surgery after two years surgery other four times n.p.,s would like more time with doc who performed surgery if possible I'm sure I'm not the only patient with that view since having a problem with the fusion that supposedly had slippage and still pain. New n.p. is very kind and helpful ! More questions to see if another surgery is needed, if will get worse later or not. Thanks

I was just in Dr. Gibbons office with my friend. I have never seen a more rude, short and with zero empathy towards a patient!! She was very rushed and felt uncomfortable!! It's like we were wasting his previous time when he really just wasted 2 hours of our time, giving her no useful feedback. Very unprofessional!!! I wouldn't recommend this Dr to my worst enemy!!!
