I wish I had read the previous reviews before making an appointment. I showed up promptly 15 minutes before my appointment and was greeted by a surly, unapologetic receptionist who informed me that the doctor would not be in today and she would’ve let me know except she “lost my number.” She then told me that the doctor was going to send me a text link to do an e visit instead and I could go in an exam room to do it on my phone or go sit in my car. At this point she had taken no information from me, no name, number, medical history etc. So I said “how is the doctor going to send me a text link if you guys don’t have my number?” and she said “Oh, she has it.” Wait, what? She had just said they couldn’t call me to cancel the appointment because they lost my number but all of a sudden she has my number for an e visit? I wasted 25 miles worth of gas for an in person appointment with a physician I have never met before and then am told to go sit in my car with my phone. I have no problem with e medicine visits with doctors I have an established relationship with but I have never met this doctor and definitely needed an in person assessment of my problem. After waiting in my car until 11:15 and receiving no link I called back up to the receptionist and canceled the appointment. Never ONCE did she apologize for the inconvenience or for “losing” my number. I have never had an experience like this at a doctors office. Rude and totally unprofessional. Don’t waste your time.
We love Dr. Maya !! She is so Thorough !! She diagnosed my daughter illness and also had to scope her at the hospital. She and the staff at Sisters Hospital were wonderful!!! I highly recommend Dr Maya !! You will be very pleased.
I was nervous switching Immunologists as my condition is very complex and rare. I appreciated Dr. Maya being Cleveland Clinic trained as most of my care is based with them. I was surprised when I was able to get in within 2 weeks for a new patient. The visit was long, 3 hours and she knew about everything. It was if my other providers from Cleveland were in the room explaining my case. She was very through, fair and tough. My other doctor was very laxed and not too concerned about recent serious events. Dr. Maya took the time review everything; including complications with medications. I would agree with other posts, she can be "pushy", as a nurse and Cleveland Clinic patient, this was to be expected. Although I expressed some discontent of treatment plans, she was blunt and to the point. A good doctor will tell you how it is, whether you like it or not. She basically saved my life. She collaborates with my team in Cleveland and truly cares. Yes, she may live in the dark ages with hav

She collaborates with my team in Cleveland and truly cares. Yes, she may live in the dark ages with having written scripts and no portal however, to me it says she is taking the time review each patient request diligently. There are not many doctors left out there who practice like Dr. Maya. As for her secretary she has always been wonderful. She may be overworked or seem like she doesn't care however, she has reached out to check on things and is constantly working on patients prior auths, hospital visits ext. People are so entitiled these days, take time to observe what's going on and how much one person is responsible for. Maybe then you can understand why she seems to not care. I always make sure to say hello and ask her how she is doing before I go off on my concerns. Either way we are different people and at the end of the day, we all want to be treated with respect, which is earned and not given. I 100% highly recommend this office for immunology. I feel more confident in my prognosis Dr. Maya added to my treatment team.
Receptionist sounds tired and unbothered all the time which made me feel like she didn’t care. I deal with chronic constipation and she was loading me on different laxatives which I continued to tell her they did not work. Eventually she basically just gave up. I have not gone back since.
The first appointment was great. She ordered several tests to try and figure out what was going on, but then ignored several important findings. She wanted me on an antacid I repeatedly told her I cannot be on due to my endocrine medication, and her solution was an anti depressant, which I also strongly expressed that I did not want. It felt like she wasn't listening to anything I said. Like she came into the appointment and was like "this is how it's going to be" and it didn't matter what I said. Like she really just gave up and didn't want to investigate further. I got a second opinion and I'm not insane, things ARE concerning that Dr. Maya simply brushed to the side.
I do not recommend coming to this office at all. There is one receptionist that sounds bothered every time you call, and you can never get in touch with the Dr (including asking questions) unless you book an appointment for months out. I spent countless appointments feeling pressured and uncomfortable. Dr Maya’s personality was pushy and uncompromising. I was repeatedly told nothing was wrong with me, I am “fine” so “I don’t need to avoid foods because nothing is wrong” even though they were making me sick every day, and more. None of my concerns were ever heard. Huge superiority complex. I wasted so many months here and ended up scheduling and pushing for my own tests because she was disinterested in finding a solution for my sickness and said “there’s nothing more I can do for you.” I’m now at a doctor who goes above and beyond for me, hears my concerns, and found multiple things going on in my gut that cause me illness. Don’t waste your time here, find an office that believes you when you say you’re sick. Not worth the stress and time.
Extremely combative and rude doctor. Believes her opinion matters more than anyone else’s in the worlds and will fight with you (literally) if you question her. She kept belittling how I felt and would tell me I’m “fine” even when I was sitting in the office in tears because I was barely eating due to feeling so sick all the time. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. So much stress comes from her and no progress was made. Just find a different doctor.
Dr. Maya has been an awesome Dr. I've been seeing her for my asthma and allergies for years. She is very through. I recommend her highly.
Had trouble with scheduling appointments and a procedure. Office cancelled so much, it became required by law for us to have to return for another office visit simply to have seen the doctor within 30 days prior to the procedure. Well, we’d already had that visit and we’re ready to have the procedure when the doctor canceled. My son has stated he feels the doctor doesn’t listen to him. He doesn’t like coming. I wouldn’t recommend

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
