Jonathan R. Mallen's Online Review Report Card

My husband has been going to Dr. Mallen for back pain the last few months. We understand that back pain could be complicated and we were patient to follow his orders and take baby steps by going to PT multiple times a week and nothing else, even though not much improvement was seen. We trusted him even though he told us that he is a not a back specialist. A few months later, MRI came back confirming my husband has sciatica, we were told nothing has to change, continue to go to PT and if pain gets worse, he can prescribe medication and refer us to a back surgeon. Things got worse quickly. Since last Friday my husband has been having severe shooting pain down his leg to his ankle and foot numbness. He has been having a hard time walking, let alone doing anything else. I’m worried sick and haven’t slept, extremely stressed about my husband, along with taking care of our 20 months old and working. We have been calling everyday but a week went by Dr Mallen did not even return a call

I was sent to Dr. Mallen by Veteran Affairs for hearing loss due to my injuries sustained while in the military. Dr. Mallen and his staff went above and beyond to address my situation and to made sure I was given the proper information dealing with my hearing loss. Staff was kind and easy to get along with. Dr. Mallen was amazing and I look forward to seeing him for my follow up appointment.

Dr Mallen filed a claim for my MRI stating that I had persistent knee pain and had not had an x-ray, when I had a raptured ACL from one catastrophic fall and he had just done an x-ray. My insurance company therefore denied the MRI authorization. Dr Mallen's practice did not even call me to let me know - I had to follow up with my insurance company to find out. The girl at the front desk said they don't give water when I asked for a cup due to the pain. Upsetting and cold service from beginning to end.

Dr Mallan is personable knowledgeable and very caring. When he gives you a cortisone shot he is gentle and precise. I came to him in such pain he said it would take 3 days. 3 days later no pain .highly recommend him. Thank you.

Had knee replacement, issues developed 10 months later. After MRI, Dr said he did not see what the problem was. Suggested I get a second opinion. Second Dr looked at same MRI, found 2 issues with initial surgery. Had to have second operation with new Dr to corrected / replace 2 parts of the knee replacement.

Dr Mallen Is a very honest Dr listens to you and is very patient. Absolute lovely man

My mother visited this Dr due to extreme back pain. She explained to the Dr. due to such extreme pain she was unable to wear a bra to work. The Dr's response was "The guys in the office must like that" she was in such pain that she did not respond to such an unprofessional remark. Needless to say she will not be seeing this person again. unprofessional, uncaring jerk.

Dr. Mallen and his office staff are all fantastic. I went here after being told by a hospital that I had an orthopedic issue and I was able to book an appointment on a Saturday morning - convenient! He listened to everything I had to say and scheduled me for two MRIs. When one MRI was denied by insurance, Joanne at the office was BEYOND helpful. She didn't ignore my calls or not call back like many other offices - she was attentive to my issue and really went the extra mile for me. It is appreciated beyond words. Absolutely would 100% recommend this office! Thank you!
