I have used Dr. Burk for my entire life thus far. There is no mistake of his knowledge and real time experience with anything I come at him with. I am always surprised how well he knows about origins and treatments of many skin blemishes and marks. I will definitely be back!

I loved Dr. Burk but he’s gone! I showed up for my appointment today and was told he’d left the building! No letter, no phone call. Voicemail unanswered. Bizarre!

Zero stars! I made an appointment with Dr. Burk over 2 weeks ago. I went to my appointment today. When I arrived at the building, the doorman told me: "Dr. Burk left last week. Several patients have come asking for him, but he left." I called the office, but I only encountered a voice message. I can't judge Dr. Burk's medical skills, as I was never given the chance to see him. However, I can warn others to avoid my mistake. No one wants to waste time. Everyone's time is precious, especially during working hours. The fact that no one called to cancel my appointment shows the lack of professionalism from his office.

Made me feel super uncomfortable the one time I actually got an appointment. Yet when I had an emergency the time prior to that (Google PUPPP, it's the worst discomfort ever causing itchiness during pregnancy that causes bleeding), his secretary refused me an appointment and it seemed like he also was on board with not taking an emergent case. I recommend Dr. Joshua Berger at the White Hall in Riverdale instead (3333 HHP). Clearly the online reviews prior to mine have spoken but I had to add my experience to the mix.

I recommend Dr. Harold Mermelstein instead. Dr. Mermelstein is incredibly sharp and professional, and has the tact and decency to handle emotionally difficult skin conditions with care and concern.Dr. Burk is a condescending, arrogant, and unprofessional elderly man. I do not recommend. I scheduled an appointment for a particular skin treatment that I had researched thoroughly and decided to seek out. Dr. Burk was patronizing and dismissive, informing me that no one would prescribe such a treatment without first trying other alternatives (all of which I had already tried with another MD, but the Doctor neglected to read my provided information or ask me any questions about my previous treatments). When I enumerated the exhaustive list of previous treatments that had failed me and then asked if there was anything left to try other than the treatment I had sought out, the Doctor responded, somewhat resentfully it seemed, "you don't want to hear about anything else!"If you prefer a dermatologist that will speak to you with respect regarding sensitive and vulnerable skin conditions, do not visit Dr. Burk. In contrast, Dr. Harold Mermelstein spoke to me at length about the treatment I sought, including its harsh negative side effects, and respected my informed decision to choose the medication.
