Took my son here and was seen pretty quickly. My problem is with the nurse who took us back, she should not work with children. My son was upset/crying and she watched as I struggled to get him on the scale and just stood there and said “I got nothing” I was like what does that even mean? She had poor bedside manner. Don't work in Pediatrics if you don’t like when children are crying.
Took my grandson in to make sure he didn't have an ear infection, nurse was amazing! Doctor was great! Will definitely return if need be!
- - - 1, 0000 NEGATIVE ONE THOUSAND STARS!!!!!!!!! This location should be shut down and the doctor should lose his license. Honestly, I never leave reviews but this was so upsetting that I must. I will NEVER go there again. I would NEVER recommend it to anyone either. (Let me give background information - no one was in the waiting room so this was not a result of lack of staffing or long waits.) My son was having complications with asthma. We had been to the doctor in the morning. I took him to this urgent care just to see if he needed to go to the emergency room or if I should just use the inhaler with him again. The nurse was friendly but when she talked to the doctor, he said for us to go to the emergency room. I asked if he could just examine my son so we could know if we should do the inhaler right then or if he's okay and I'm just overthinking things. He did not come examine my son and told the nurse to tell me just to go to the ER. HE SHOULD HAVE EXAMINED HIM! I see that this particular doctor is an ER doctor! He would have known whether or not to give him the inhaler just to get him safely to the ER. This was absolutely AWFUL! He shouldn't be employed by Children's Hospital if he's not willing to just look at a child who needs help. I will call the phone number listed on other negative reviews and provide his name! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!
If I could give a negative star I would the man working security March 10 at 6:41 pm was the rudest individual I have come into contact with anytime in recent memory absolutely disgusting you would have this person be your first point of contact.
This was the worst experience I have ever had. My son started to feel bad around bed time and so by the time we got there is was about 20 min before closing. The lady at the front desk explained to me that they had met their quota for the day! I'm sorry I didn't know there were quotas! I've gone to other Akron children's urgent cares and was seen almost same scenario. I've never had a negative experience with Akron Children's until last night! The lady was not friendly and should not be there the first person patients see. I will never go back to the Montrose location ever again!
A very bad experience at Akron Children’s urgent care . I wish I could give - star. I came here at 7:15 pm with my son who had tummy ache. I was put on the waitlist. 10 minutes before eight I was told that I am the last person and I will be seen today before 8 o’clock. I was talking to the front desk ,I thanked her as my son was having tummy ache. I told her that he may be constipated or may have appendicitis and would love to get him checked and appreciate them. The front desk went back, spoke to the doctors and nurses and came back and told me that he cannot be seen because they don’t see anyone with appendicitis and cannot do CT scan and he needs to go to ER without seeing my son or checking him. I told her I don’t know if he has appendicitis. I was baffled by her comments. I just want him to get checked. And how can they listen to a mom’s diagnosis and make a decision to not see my son a patient who is in pain. This is so awful. The front desk person was Jaunita. The nurses came to talk and tell me it’s past 8 pm now. So cannot see him. Which didn’t help me. The doctor should do diagnosis and help kids in pain. the front desk and doctor shouldn’t decide and diagnosis without seeing the kid in pain by just listening to a desperate mom waiting in lobby who does the diagnosis after reading online. Pathetic. They had time to see my son and help him and could take him inside as we were the last family and Juanita ( front desk)said they will see us at 7:50pm. Very bad . Will never come here again. Bad service for a poor sick kid.
I arrived two minutes after opening and there was a line. And when I left the whole waiting room was filled. We were seen in a timely fashion. The nurses and Dr. Manly were thorough and very helpful. Dr Manly even was helpful in getting him his medication. Thank you!
If I could give negative stars I would!!! My wife and son who was running a 102.4 fever at approximately 8:22 pm and then were told 30 minutes later that they could NOT be seen. How can they turn away a toddler who is running a fever and needed treatment. We took him to a Cleveland Clinic ER and they were able to take care of him quickly and without issue. Will never go here again.
Went in today and was treated for what turned out to be a kidney infection. While there I had a allergic reaction. Lex (the nurse) and the resident doctor on tonight did a great job of taking care of me while there. I had never had an allergic reaction before and they kept me calm through it all. Thank you to all the staff who helped me today! I don’t want to be in the ER anytime soon but I would most definitely come back to this one and to tell people to go to this location.
If I could leave a -5 star review I would. From going in and waiting 10 minutes for the receptionist to come back to the desk because she was “using the restroom” while a ton of other people could’ve easily checked me in and then she comes back with a bunch of food. To the doctor having the worst bedside manner I’ve ever experience for a pediatric doctor. Two the lady who really topped it off when she came to give me my discharge paperwork for my three-year-old son who is in there for hand foot and mouth and was screaming and crying for a sticker the entire time. And I asked her for a sticker and she looked at me and said “are you sure you want to give him one with the way he’s acting?” First of all you work in an urgent care pediatric hospital. If you can’t deal with kids screaming and crying because they’re coming in because they don’t feel good you should not be there. Never will I ever return to this place. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Do better.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
