I have had two knee replacements done by Dr. Kase, both successful. The criticism is that the billing entity Odyssey has issues. I consistently told the office, the hospital, PT department that I'm a retiree and that Medicare is primary (I don't work in retirement), and that there is other insurance that is secondary. In spite of that three months after the operation, I see where my secondary insurer was first billed. They are not primary and they check against Medicare - Medicare had not been billed at all, so the secondary insurer correctly rejected the claim. Some 65K worth. I had a rather testy exchange with them at the end of January but thankfully my contact with them a few days later was more pleasant. Unfortunately, 30 days later I only saw two of the claims get to Medicare - so this time I went back to the practice and complained. I was immediately contacted by the billing company and now have direct contact. Odyssey admits the file is a mess.
Dr. Kase is horrible. He may be the the rudest person I've ever met. I had orthoscopic knee surgery and the surgeon who did it sold his practice to crystal clinic and retired a month later and that is when I had unfortunate opportunity to see Dr Kase. My knee went out again after surgery and after about 4 months I was having allot of pain and problems walking and was unable to return to work because of how physical my job was. Dr. Kase said the other surgeon already fixed my knee and I need to just deal with pain and told me to go back to work or find another job. So I found another surgeon who did an x ray on my first visit and said I would definitely need a partial knee replacement. I've since had that procedure and feel great and have my quality of life back. Stay away from Dr Kase at all cost.
Just don’t go to see him. Please choose someone else. Just a terrible experience. Just don’t!!! I wish I’d known!!!
Dr Kase has a poor bedside manner. He is a cold person and doesn't care about me as a person. He was also very judgmental about medicines I am prescribed/ using from another doctor. He weight shamed and made me feel shame for mental health issues without knowing my life. I will never put myself through another visit with him. He's more interested in "sports medicine" and prefers to work with young athletes as opposed to older individuals with osteoarthritis and aging bone issues. Never again!
I didn't feel Dr Kase took the entire problem serious, He didn't listen when I told him where the pain was at EVERY visit, then said we never mentioned it!! Did not like him as a doctor, although he had a decent bedside manner. didn't feel he cared about the entire problem. His staff is great. too bad he isn't I DON'T recommend Dr Kase. wish I could have given him less than 1 star.
This "Doctor" performed my knee replacement, (1 year later) and I'm worst off now, than I was before the surgery. So when I going in to see him, I get no answers ( Seemed like he didn't care) but more pills for my pain, and OA in my other knee. Don't waist your time.
He basically butchered my shoulder surgery, leaving me with sutures that fell out and lots of bleeding found when i went for a repeat surgery by someone else.
I do not think this Dr has enough experience with certain injuries, He told me up front he was not an "ankle" specialist ... but treated me anyway ... I felt like I was not heard .. I felt like I was blown off .. and I felt like by the time therapy was done, and I was still in pain and asking for medication..that he just threw me to someone else, telling me .. he could not "See" what was wrong .. upon transferring me, he did the only MRI that has been done since the date of injury (at least 4months) .. my new Dr .. tells me I have tendinitis, and submitted nerve damage to the proper channels, telling me I was in the wrong kind of brace and had to get one specially made for me. I will soon be tested for nerve damage through an EMG... I rate him poorly because I feel I should of been heard more .. rather then being told "I don't know what else to say"

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
