I arrived at Dr. Mayor's office for the first time filled with dread. Within ten minutes he had changed all of my perceptions and I was ready to move ahead with my surgery with confidence. His focus on teaching the patient and anticipating questions was amazing, and he clearly had my best possible outcome in mind at every moment.

Was very pleased with my experience with Dr. Mayor. He was thorough and patient in his explanation of all procedures. He went in to great detail and answered every question to my satisfaction. He immediately put me at ease with his kind and attentive demeanor. Dr. Mayor is a credit to his profession, and I feel fortunate to put myself in his good care. I highlt recommend Dr. Mayor.

Regret letting Dr. Mayor perform heart surgery on my dad. We were told after the surgery was complete that everything went well and we would be able to see him in recovery in an hour. Hours pass.. They let us see him but he's still under- no explanation as to what was going on. Still under the impression surgery had went fine. A couple hours later Dr. Mayor returned to the hospital to do a procedure. After that he informed us that he could do nothing else because the hospital HE gave the OK to perform surgery in was not equipped to handle what was happening. If my dad made it through the night he could be transferred. While watching him slip away- we were never given answers as to exactly what had happened and my dad passed away at 6am the morning after surgery. Make sure you ask questions. Make sure the facility is equipped to handle all outcomes. Make sure your surgeon cares enough to research the case fully before proceeding. My dad was 59. He walked himself into the hospital.

My husband had a triple bypass on 10/04/11 and Dr Mayor was great he told me what he did to my husband in detail and checked on him everyday,I saw him several times in Shawnee Mission Medical Center , My husband did extremly well and was let out in 4 days hes been released from Dr. Mayor and He said that my husband was healing really good. He gets to go back to work on 11/16/11 on his 6 week .He was a very nice man that you could undertand what he was telling you not a lot of big words.

I would NEVER recommend this doctor - even to my worst enemy. He did a lung surgery on me and then three days later released me from the hospital. He didn't even bother to check, but I had full-blown pneumonia in both lungs when he released me, and that night I was put on life support at another hospital, and nearly died. I bet he doesn't put this up on this site.

Doctor Mayor is one of the finest doctors at Overland Park regional. He is calm and he really listens to you. He doesnt sit on high chair and look down on you. He is my favorite! Thank you. And i would recommend him anytime any day.
