List of Richard A. Lehrer's Reviews
22 years ago I had laser surgery so that I wouldn’t have to wear glasses. Then I got a Cataracs and now after my surgery I was hoping for clear vision witch this doctor promised me I would have and when I told him it is a problem he wrote me a prescription for glasses. Not the solution I wanted. I recommend a different doctor.
The WORST “doctor” in Ohio. Doesn’t know that there is more to a patient, than their eyes. Makes people wait for 4 hours…in a dark room, surrounded by strangers, without their lenses. If it can’t understand what that’s like…it shouldn’t be allowed to call itself a doctor.
Went to him for double vision.2,5hr visit.no opinion or summary, and the scrip that he wrote for glasses can no be filled, because it is written wrong.Going to file complaint,I paid and got nothing
I traveled to see Dr. Lehrer for a second opinion. I think he is an excellent ophthalmologist and he provided me with a lot of valuable information regarding treatment options. I contacted his office on two different occasions with questions that I had and both times he called me back later the same day to discuss my questions. Other reviewers remark on the long wait times. I do not recall how long my waiting time was before I saw him but I do not think it was excessive. I have had very long wait times with my local ophthalmologist due to a variety of reasons such as emergencies, procedures that need to be done urgently while the patient is in the clinic, overbooking, etc. I know from past experiences, there have been times when urgent care provided to me took longer than expected and no doubt put the ophthalmologist further behind. I would rather see an ophthalmologist who is going to take the time to deal with an urgent issue at the time rather than telling me we will have to schedule it for another time! Whenever I go to the doctor, whether it is the ophthalmologist or any other doctor, I just try to “chill out” because someone else probably has an urgent care need that day that may be taking longer than expected.
It's easy to ask Dr. Lehrer questions. He's very kind in his approach, and when I leave his office I always feel good. I trust him to help me with my glaucoma.
If your eye doctor refers you to this....you need to find another eye doctor. Lehrer doesn't know the first thing about patient care. The person attached to the eyes is just another number in his accounts receivable ledger. I waited 45 minutes to be seen and have my eyes numbed. Then waited another hour and fifteen minutes to have my eyes checked by another staff member. By then, the numbing drops had worn off in my left eye. Then, Lehrer graced me with his presence for a couple of minutes before his staff put drops in to dilate my eyes. Approximately 20 minutes later, another staff member took pictures of my eyes. A half hour later, Lehrer found the time to look at the pictures and tell me to come back in a couple months. I wear contacts, have horrible vision, and had to sit around, for hours, in a dimly lit waiting room. That is a horrible experience that Lehrer should understand. But, he couldn't because he is unable to care about the person attached to the eyes, which are linked to his accounts receivable ledger. Take a machine, which can't have feelings because it's just a machine, add in a monster, and you've got "Dr. Lehrer".
If I could give a minus grade I would! Over a two hour wait every single time! Learn how to schedule! Horrible!
If your eye doctor refers you to this....you need to find another eye doctor. Lehrer doesn’t know the first thing about patient care. The person attached to the eyes is just another account in his accounts payable ledger. I waited a total of 2 1/2 hours, in a dimly lit waiting room, without my contacts. That is a horrible experience that Lehrer should understand. Take a machine, which can’t have feelings because it’s just a machine, add in a monster, and you’ve got “Dr. Lehrer”.
I was referred to Dr. Lehrer because he is a glaucoma specialist. I am not at all impressed with him or the other physicians in the practice. They are dismissive and do not listen. I am going to find another specialist.
I have always found Dr. Lehrer to be very kind, caring, and professional. I never feel rushed once I get to see him, and he has always been gracious. The only drawback is the long wait time. He recently apologized to me for that, and said he wondered if he needed to take over scheduling too.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
