**Rhinoplasty Experience with Dr. Wakelin – Disappointed Outcome and Lack of Follow-Up Care** I had a rhinoplasty with Dr. Wakelin in 2020 after struggling with insecurity about my nose since childhood. I chose him because he came across as kind, professional, and seemed to understand my goals. The surgery itself and the recovery process went smoothly, and I was initially hopeful. However, as time passed, I realized that my nose was not healing in the way I had envisioned. The tip of my nose became droopy, and it turned out there wasn't enough cartilage to support it. I was devastated. I had spent $9,000 to fix something that had always made me self-conscious—only to end up even more unhappy with the result than before. Three years later, I flew in from South Carolina to see Dr. Wakelin again and explain my concerns. I was surprised and disappointed when he told me there was nothing he could do to help and advised me to get a second opinion—even though he had performed the original surgery. I felt dismissed and unsupported, especially given the emotional and financial investment I had made. Thankfully, I did get a second opinion. I saw an ENT specialist this year who had no trouble correcting the issues. He even mentioned that my nose didn’t look natural and was surprised by the previous surgical work. Importantly, he didn’t find any issue with the amount of cartilage in my nose, contradicting what Dr. Wakelin had told me. I now finally have the nose I originally asked for, but I went through two surgeries and years of disappointment to get here. Looking back, I wish I had done more research and explored more options before making such a major decision. I’m grateful that my initial surgery was safe, but the outcome and lack of follow-up care were deeply disheartening. I wouldn’t want others to go through the same experience.

Dr. Wakelin did an amazing job, all my concerns were addressed. He takes his time educating & explaining to reach your goals. I’m obsessed with the results. I would highly recommend Dr. Wakelin.

Well, first of all after spending $25,00 for a neck and lower facelift the results are very disappointing! It's been 14 months and my neck is still numb and I was told to expect the numbness for 8 to 12 months and its STILL numb! I had a horrible infection after the surgery and had to go on antibiotics. He said it was the first time he had a patient get an infection, but his nurse told mw it had happened to an other patient. I still have a lot of wrinkles along the side of my jawls and in my neck! After going back to see Dr. Wakelin regarding this and sitting and waiting for 45 minutes he comes in with pictures of before and after the surgery, which I already had. I asked him why I still had wrinkles after the surgery and he said that he told me ( and he had it written in his notes) it wouldn't get rid of the wrinkles. That's what a facelift is supposed to do.The lines around the mouth are very pronounced after a year as well. Very, very disappointing after all of the mo new that was spent and to get these results if horrifying. I would not recommend a facelift to be performed by Dr. Wakelin. Look eleswhere if you want good results!

Dr. Wakelin is very nice and patient yet the only thing I disagree with is how he required me to see a therapist to approve me for a double mastectomy before he would ever consider performing that procedure on me. This is something I've wanted since I was 13yrs old. That was 20+ yrs ago. I am finally being proactive about it now bc I am finally financially able to do so. I know my body and what I want more than anyone on the planet, so I disagree a therapist should be given the power to approve or not approve something that would be in my best interest when they have only known me for an hr.

$10,000 I had a tummy tuck 2 years ago this month to repair my stomach from emergency surgery in 2016. Dr. Wakelin basically cut me open and closed me back because my stomach was no smaller than it was prior to the surgery. I wasted $10,000 for nothing and I’m still paying for it with no results. He tells you what you want to hear but results show he couldn’t do it. I wish I’d never went to his office and his nurse is the same way. She was nice until they got my money and then rude afterwards.

Dr. Wakelin and his staff are fabulous!! I recently had quite a large surgery and could not be happier with my results! He is a complete professional with great bedside manner. The staff is always friendly, helpful, caring, and professional. The Upper Arlington office is just beautiful. I can’t wait to visit their Medispa soon! I would recommend Dr. Wakelin to all my friends and family. Absolutely the best!!!!

Dr. Wakelin is a very nice doctor but after paying $10,000 for a mini tummy tuck to fix my stomach from emergency surgery in 2016, it was a waste of money and time. All I have now is debt and same appearance. I feel that I was just cut open and sewn back together. I’m not obese and my results should have been better. I just needed the stretching of my stomach repaired. I work out everyday and stay active. I truly regret it and will be paying for it along time. I was just another dollar sign to him and his staff, when all I wanted was my life back. 😞

If you want an excellent result, see Dr. Wakelin. Dr. Wakelin wasn’t the only doctor with whom I consulted for a major surgery but after meeting with him, I scheduled the surgery immediately. Dr. Wakelin explained every aspect of the surgery and answered all my questions. Dr. Wakelin has a wonderful bedside manner and made me feel at ease through recovery. Dr. Wakelin’s staff was always available to answer questions about recovery procedure. Most importantly, I believe his surgical technique created (or recreated) symmetry and balance in my physique. So happy I chose Dr. Wakelin!

I drove from West Virginia for my consult with Dr. Wakelin. I knew when I left, I wanted him to do my surgery. He gave me realistic expectations, and made the whole process as smooth as possible. This was important for me considering I had a 3 hour drive home the day after surgery! Great Dr. ! Great results!
