List of Stephen A Yoder's Reviews
In the past, he has taken care of my broken wrists, put a plate in one of them and performed carpal tunnel surgery on both hands. I never had any issues afterwards with any surgeries he has performed. He explains everything in detail, and takes the time to answer any questions you may have and he's very personable. I would not hesitate recommending him to anyone.
Since there is not a negative star I am leaving a 1 star rating but Dr Yoder gets no stars from me. I saw Dr Yoder after dislocating my shoulder. His attitude was "well, either it will get better or it won't". I had multiple x-rays but no MRI or anything else to show other damage. I wasted 2 months piddling with him when I could have been on the way to recovery. My second opinion doctor ordered an MRI which revealed a significantly torn rotator cuff and ligament damage. I have since had surgery and am in therapy, progressing well. I would not recommend him to take care of Tom White's house cat.
I agree with two of the above reviews as I waited three weeks to get into Dr Yoder (was referred by the hospital). I had been in a car accident and my knee had been swollen and in pain. I was excited to get an answer on my pain and hopeful that it was not anything serious. Dr Yoder introduced himself looked my xrays an leg and said I bruised my nerve in my knee. He said the pain would not go away for at a minimum of 6 weeks to three months. I asked him if it could be anything else as my other leg was hurting due to me favoring it he said no and to call him in six months if it still hurts. I then asked if I should keep my insurance case open to be sure, he got upset and said I’m not a lawyer. I told him I was not seeking legal advice just doctors advice and he said he didn’t know. As I was leaving he said did you get a new car out of this (with a smirk). I turned and said I’m not getting anything out of this! This accident injured me and my 3 kids and I just wanted to be sure I was ok.
Dr Yoder was not personable and was quick to jump to conclusion on my situation. This really hurt my feelings and did not make me feel welcome. Also took 3 weeks to get an appt after being in a car crash. Will not return.
The only reason I sought out an orthopedic doctor was that the emergency room advised me to do so because of a serious injury to one of my legs. He might be a good doctor for some people but I prefer a doctor who makes me feel welcome and is empathetic. I definitely felt that the emergency room was more informative and compassionate. My visit to this doctor was disappointing and a waste of time, money and energy. Needless to say, there will not be a return visit.
If you are a woman run for the nearest EXIT he’s the doctor from HELL. And don’t ask any questions you might hurt his ego. Don’t try to explain your pain he knows it all. I hope this message will save someone I was not lucky. He DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. They probably will delete this message. I’m a very kind and caring person I DIDN’T deserve HOW I was TREATED. MAY GOD FORGIVE HIM
i have seen Dr . Yoder the past 2 plus yrs. I just had a total knee replacement 7/23/18............ would reccomend r. Yoder He has always been nice and professional with me. I was treated well. my surgery went well. e saw me every morning at hospital and answered all question. When my right knee needs done i will have him do it unless he is retiered by then
I was referred to Dr Yoder from an Urgent care doctor with a broken knee and infection. . The Awesome urgent care doctor said I needed to see specialist orthopedic Dr who would take a sample of the infection and put a brace on my fractured knee right away ... I got in to see Dr Yoder that day, however ... now I know why he had openings... He did absolutely nothing for me... He disagreed with Urgent Care doctors saying " There is nothing I can do for you . Just let it heal on its own.
He is EXTREMELY impersonal and does not make his patients feel as though they are a priority.
Dr. Yoder has done my shoulder scope and my knee scope. I was very satisfied with the results of both. I will keep Dr Yoder as long as I can for my ortho Dr.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
