Between the nursing, residents and attending physicians, I felt like my family was well cared for.

I am very unsatisfied with Akron children’s Boardman hospital. They are only concerned with gouging their patients with extremely high prices and if you can’t pay, then screw you .customer service was no help. The financial assistance department does not care they are simply reading from a script. I would never go to this hospital ever again.

This makes me angry. The care was wonderful, however, the bill received for a minor emergency visit is ABSURD! I understand hospital billing. I was expecting a few hundred dollars in bills as we visited for an x-ray (nothing ended up broken) and were there for aprox 1 hour total care for x-ray only. $2,000... that's right, thousands of dollars for an x-ray. I called to complain, I even reviewed the pricing listed on Akron's website, which by the way is very broadly listed FOR A REASON. We were charged for what they describe as level 3 emergency visit (out of 5). I was given no leniency and told level 1($500 plus) is when you walk in the door and receive no medicine or care....ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I was told they would submit a pricing dispute and might get a call....I guess I shouldn't hold my breath on that one. I am disgusted. Cue the auto response from Akron below "Please reach out to a customer care rep for help!" ....I did, YOU DON'T CARE! Disgusted. UPDATE After multiple calls to customer service it was decided by Akron Children's no changes will be made to this billing complaint. Their decision to charge $1,321.00 service fee was justified by "checking vitals once" and "Room" for which we sat and waited to be told nothing further was necessary for 30 minutes. This is in addition to the $591.75 charged for actual services rendered (x-ray/radiology, professional services) for which I am not taking issue. I will be fling a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General and BBB. I suggest anyone else reading this in the same situation to do the same. We will only make change for our community by bringing facts to light and holding companies responsible.

Great experience! The nurses and doctor were kind and thorough. They asked questions and listed and were happy to get us seen and taken care of promptly. I will happily go here again. We waited for maybe 10 minutes or less before being taken back to a room.

I'm sorry, is ACH suddenly a private religious hospital? Since when do you test all girls for pregnancy coming into the ER?? We were literally told exactly that! Been coming here with my daughters for YEARS that was NOT a policy before!! Told them no and they told us to go somewhere else!! Had to argue with multiple staff before they finally agreed to see my daughter. The nurse originally lied also saying it was just a test for urinary tract infection...admitted what it was after I questioned it like 4 times. We arent even here for that, is our insurance covering extra random tests? We are not coming back here.
