On my husband's 4th visit to Aultman ER in less than a month, for the same health issues, Dr. Balcom came into the exam room and asked me "just what I thought he could do for me 'this time' " . . .His attitude and tone was "why are you here again". The result of this visit, by the way, was a 2nd admission and surgery within 2 weeks time. Our neurosurgeon had told me when I spoke with him the day before, to go to ER if my husband worsened (it was the weekend). Dr. Balcom was not respectful, caring or understanding of my husband's needs, or my attempts to get my husband the help he needed.

This doctor has a fabulous bedside manner. Demonstrated exceptional compassion for me during my visit. I felt that he knew his stuff, and provided a little humor which was appreciated. His explanations were easy to understand, and I didn't feel that he talked down to me like many doctors.
