Have been going for years. He's a very caring and professional doctor.

Dr Bertman has been my Dr for close to 40 years. He is a very intelligent Dr, always reading medical information for which he states as his hobby. I would very highly recommend my Dr to anyone looking for someone who knows his stuff and is "top drawer" and a very wonderful, caring person..love you for taking good care of me

I think someone was looking out for me when years ago I found Dr Bertman.. I can only say, based on my experience, that I could have not found a better doctor, with a staff that is always very understanding, yet professional and very good. With one word: Thank you!

Dr. Bertman very compassionate with his care.

I was referred to Dr. Bertman a number of years ago because I had a few unusual test results and he was supposed to be an expert diagnostician. He never really figured out what was going on. Dr. Bertman is quick to prescribe additional medications. He never seems to remember my history (despite the fact that it is listed in my chart) and we spend half of the time just reviewing it. He's a nice guy, but tells me the same thing every visit, despite the fact that I have told him that half of his suggestions aren't practical for me. He can be pretty rude with some of his advice. For example, when discussing a need for weight loss, he all but told me that I'd be so much prettier if I lost weight and if I did, I would be able to find a boyfriend. I was highly offended by that. His office staff can be extremely rude also. One nurse made up her own pronunciation for my name because she 'likes the way it sounds better.' The receptionist has been extremely rude to me several times in the past, chewing me out for not being sure what dosage I needed for a refill (because my chart isn't right in the office). They also never call to remind for appointments, yet call the next day irate if you forget, and frequently leave me waiting for long periods of time during appointments. All in all, he's a nice enough guy, but I am ready to find a doctor who is more helpful and respects me more as a person and patient.

Dr. Bertman provided comfort care to my aging mother at the time when she needed an accurate diagnosis. We would address distressing symptoms to him, and he would just overlook it and dismiss as something of the ordinary. My mom had to suffer needlessly because of his immature diagnosis. One time my mother had to see the doctor because of a very high heart rate. The doctor was in the office, but his wife who answered the phone would not let us come in because he was leaving for the day. I can go on and on, but I will let it go because my mom would want it that way. So sad.

As he is a very nice person, as for knowledge and bedside manner not that great. He has fine bedside for being "your friend" but he doesn't take time to know and doesn't really remember, always asking and uses tape recorder to remember for the next time right middle of consulting me. The M.A. is great really like her but the rest of the front office staff is very very rude and uncaring. This dr was the last straw when he told me to take a medication that I couldn't take. For the cold stuff, fine, anything serious or multi health issues, I'd go elsewhere.

His wife the appt setter/office mgr, once a nurse is horrible person.She lied for a year when I was really ill,about being in network for my insurance, and when I got well enough to go over eob's and such I asked why the xtra charges and she said I thought you would have known by now. She wouldn't work with me on the bill, when Iasked to speak to the dr. she repeatedly said no, she makes the decisions. I paid all except $160 from $3000 and she still would not let me see the dr. again. I pray that she never has health issues or needs a good dr. I really only liked the dr. due to his correct diagnosis and concern at time of visit. Never got any follow up care or concern. His wife his downfall.

Doesn't take the time to know what is happeining with his patients.
