I have been a patient of Dr. Derussy for several years. I am very satisfied with the care he has given me, and thankful for his patience and diligence. He is very knowledgeable and I appreciate his willingness to explain things to me.

My husband lost 20 pounds after three weeks in KWLS, lab draw at 3 weeks showed a very low sodium as well as a high potassium. Those results occurred because his labs were not sent stat. DeRussy called my husband the next day insisting that he go to the ER, he would not listen to my husband explain that he has chronic hemolytic anemia, red blood cells continue to break down and labs need to be run stat. DeRussy did not understand the physiology behind this. My husband is 67 years old and has dealt with this process since he was 6 years old. He has had heme-onc specialists explain although they do not not a name for what is causing the hemolysis, it will not harm him. My husband’s physician redrew the labs, ran stat and they were normal. Dr. DeRussy refused to let my husband continue the program. I intend to make others aware of what is going on, and he is not board-certified weight management physician and does not understand basic physiology.

Dr. DeRussey has been my doctor for over 10 years. I cannot say enough about how thorough he is. He takes the time needed each visit to listen well. He follows up timely with referrals. He is a very caring and kind physician and the staff is also.

I find him patient, helpful, and knowledgeable. On the other hand, i find very difficult to talk to his nurse, and i have had problems with the mis-classification of my visit.

Dr DeRussy is a great doctor. He actually talks to you. He listens and cares for his patients. He does his paperwork very quickly. He is the best doctor I have had.
