List of Primed Centerville Family Practice's Reviews
Edit: Primed has since reached out and resolved these issues. I’m glad someone in their management department has more common sense than the nurse I talked to on the phone. STAY AWAY! Have been coming to this office since I was a little kid and never had a problem with them until recently. Called them today asked for a referral to see a specialist and they informed me that my primary care physician left the practice. This was news to me. They told me she went to a new practice almost 45 minutes away and that they were not accepting new patients. They also said they sent out something in the mail saying that she had left the practice back in December which just never happened. This is absolutely ridiculous that this is how they treat their patients. Instead of helping their patients, they go out of their way to be rude and drive you away. Keep away from this place as they do not have your best interests at heart.
Dr L Sommers is awesome. She takes time to listen to you as a patient. Never did feel that she was in a hurry. She had great ideas to move me forward on my health. She is golden. I have waited a long time to have a truly great physician.
Very disappointed in this office. I’ve been a patient for years. My doctor left the practice to join a practice 45 minutes away from my house and they didn’t even notify me until AFTER she left. They then said the other physicians would only see me for another month. I’ve tried calling multiple other offices in the area and many are not accepting new patients for another 8-12 months. I tried to get established at another Primed location but they said they would not see any patients of my doctor, that I could not be seen in any primed offices, my only choice was to drive to my doctor (45 minutes away and on another network.) I have been a good patient, always paying my bills on time and not missing appointments. I expected better treatment.
I would definitely give 0 stars if it was an option. From losing medical records, to rude and impatient staff, to even doctors that fail to diagnose problems and want to just slap a medication on a kid with no explanation, this place has it all. I hope people read this and make the right choice not to come here.
As I'm typing this, I have been on hold for over 20 minutes just trying to establish as a new patient. There's no option that chimes in during the hold music to give you an option to leave a voicemail for someone to return your call either. 25 minutes into my hold time someone finally picks up and I ask them if Dr. Sommers is taking new patients, the person didn't answer either way, but asked what kind of insurance I had. I replied Anthem (I had already scoped out Dr. Sommers on my ins provider's website) and she hum hawed a bit before asking if she could put me on hold. I waited on hold another few minutes only to be told Dr. Sommers is not taking new patients. I was on hold for a total of 28 minutes be told that Dr. Sommers isn't taking new patients. That's information I should never have been placed on hold a second time to obtain - receptionists should know that up front. I'm a former medical receptionist myself. I'm starting to think the astronomically low practice rating on here actually has some merit. I likely dodged a bullet.
I wish I can give 0 star
they rip you off
The staff is wonderful however to call in and actually talk to someone takes forever. Have sat on hold for over 30 mins for someone to answer
Dr. Sommer's is an amazing MD, however; the staff at this place are horrid, just calling in to get an appointment is a juggernaut of a task, no one ever answers the scheduling line and I've had nurses answer the med refill and question line just to have them immediately hangup, this place is definitely in need of restaffing. I will say though, there are a handful of amazing nurses and some very polite staff, but the ladder outnumber the former unfortunately.
My wife was a patient at this office for 2 decades in the excellent care of the recently retired Dr. Romer. So was her mother. Dr. Romer had been winding back his practice for some time, so it was not a surprise this office when he finally stopped seeing patients. When my wife asked what the plan was for her now that her primary care physician had retired, their response was that they would have to see if anyone was taking patients. Even if that was going to be the response, wouldn’t you think they would know if anyone was taking patients all the time? Are you kidding?! I emailed the office manager to inform her of this situation And got no response. My wife had a similar non-response to a previous situation. Although the physicians in this office appear to be quite competent, the structure of the practice is clearly not in any way focused on the patient which is routinely evidenced by the callous way in which patients are treated. This was true also at the now closed Springboro office. So my wife moved to a different practice and so have I, even though I am happy enough with my physician. .It is easy enough to locate high-quality primary care practitioners, and these corporatized practice managers don’t seem to recognize what a differentiator a high-quality office staff makes. Dr. Romer himself was annoyed a few times by the way my wife was treated by the front office. But now that he is gone we had no advocacy.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
