List of Alan P. Altman Md's Reviews
Very rude and unprofessional person.Very annopying
He was rude and inappropriate he has an awful history with bad atuff
I have been a patient of Dr. Altman’s since 1996 had two children and been through a couple husbands but have always kept him as a Dr. He is one of the best in Ohio to me. Love that he is honest and direct. I feel as if I can say anything to him and not feel embarrassed.
Very personable, easy to talk to and thorough. Seemed like he really cared about me.
After expressing issues and physical condition after childbirth, he actually made inappropriate jokes and dismissed my concerns. I was devastated. This practice associates in OBGYN are unprofessional and cold. One of the nurses basically called me a **** after I tested positive for HPV. The staff is terribly rude and I dreaded each visit. They are even rude on the phone. I wish I had never gone there. Choose a different doctor and practice altogether or you will be sorry.
I've seen Dr.Altman throughout my two pregnancies at Associates in Ob-Gyn. I always came away from my visits with him feeling confident that he "knows his stuff" and is providing thoughtful and comprehensive care to me - and not just going through the motions to cross one more patient of his daily schedule. I will say that while I've never at all felt like he was rude or condescending, he's not the overly- friendly coddling type. He's a straight shooter and has a bit of a sarcastic sense of humor (never inappropriate), but I like that about him. Much better than a fake-acting doctor who you feel is patronizing you. His offices are nice, as are the staff and the other providers (with the exception of one female doctor, K, who I did not care for. ) They have flexible hours and its easy to schedule appointments at convenient times. Sometimes the wait is a bit longer than I'd like, but such is the nature of the practice I suppose.
I have been seeing Dr.Altman for years and have always found him gentle and kind. My most recent visit was terrible, however. The CNA was curt and spoke to me in very much the same way I used to see medical personnel speak to patients and their families when I worked in Medicine: an I'm-better-than-you-and-just-tolerating-you-because-I-must attitude. Dr. Altman's manner was unprofessional as well. While in his office, he made minimal eye contact and seemed to not know why I was even there until I told him (even though it was all spelled out on my intake paperwork). Almost every health complaint that I presented with he pigeon-holed into one situation, AND I felt that he held me in contempt for being in that situation to begin with (and no, I don't have an STD, hep C, or a substance abuse problem, not that that would have made his behavior any more acceptable). I felt judged, uncared for, and unwelcome. I am really glad that so many have had great experiences. But I won't go back.
I have been going to Dr Altman for 17 years. So have most of the people I work with. We all love him. He never makes you wait when you have an appointment. He is also a great surgeon. I was surprised he got bad reviews on bedside manner. He is just very "real" and i appreciate that I am very comfortable with him.
Dr. Altman demonstrates genuine care for his patients. His sense of humor is contagious.
Dr. Altmann has been my OBY for approx. 15 years. He's one of the BEST in his field. He took his time to explain procedures and helped me through several health problems including my hysterectomy. Great bedside manners. I refer all my friends to him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
