Dr. Dektas and the rest of the Samaritan Ob/gyn physicians cared for me during my pregnancy with my second child. I was lucky enough to have Dr. Dektas at delivery. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She was calm, informative, compassionate, and encouraging. I was confident in her ability to manage my pregnancy and delivery safely. Without reservation, I recommend her and the practice to everyone.

I do feel she lacks on knowledge and care, especially compared to the other doctors at this practice. I was hemorrhaging and she told me not to go to the ER. I am very glad I have good intuitions, because I went to the ER anyway. Low & behold I had to have emergency surgery. Had I listened to her and just went to bed, who knows what could have happened. Does not take patients concerns seriously. This is NOT a reflection of this practice, but ONLY of Dr. Dektas.

This woman ruined my first delivery experience. My nurse luann was a dream. While I was pushing dr dektas made me feel like I was wasting her time. She was literally huffing, crossing her arms and tapping her toe. I actually started crying and apologizing. Dr dektas just shrugged her shoulders. Luann told me I was doing great and it takes on average 2 hours for a new mom to push. At 45 minutes dr dektas cut me which caused me to rip more. I know this because my sister is a nurse practioner who has been in hundreds of deliveries and my sister was right next to dektas. Dektas tried to say she cut me because I began to rip which husband and sister both said was not true. She just was tired of waiting. Very bad experience, if you can avoid her at all cost. Everyone else at Samaritan obgyn is great!
