The VA is a big reason for the 22 veterans a day that decide to end their life. That’s just a fact. If you knew what they put us veterans through you would be disgusted. It’s not the people it’s the process. They need to do better by us and they literally find anyway they can to not help or to make it worse. The system is flawed. You are failing American warriors who fought for the freedoms we have today. You should be ashamed.
Shout out to the folks whom done a Heart Cath on my brother. Cannot remember your names but he was well taken care of from start to finish. Every area I went to folks were nice and asked how could help. Job well done !
the nurses, staff and other employees always have been excellent! but the doctors there only care if you are over 50 years old or if you have what they deem as a severe injury. the fact that ive been told multiple times that i am not old enough to have issues with my heart or liver despite testing showing otherwise is ludicrous. the nurses redeem the va though. some of the hardest working men and women ive seen.
Compartmentalized health care. Multiple symptoms seem to confuse the doctors and nurse practitioners. They only want to focus on one then they don't have to give a diagnosis. They just address the one symptom. Instead of finding out why you have a set of symptoms they just stop and move onto to the next symptom instead of addressing all the symptoms. They refuse to provide a cause (Nexus) for anything

No wait time for my mri. I showed up early and knocked it out. Terrifying mri because of my claustrophobia and back spasms
Double check your records they have a tendency to put false diagnoses. And goodbye to your job if these people are in charge of your medical. Found so many errors I don't even know where to start.
My husband wasn’t feeling well on Labor Day weekend. I took him to the ER and was greeted with a standard of care that is VERY rare! Everyone from the nurses, techs and Dr.’s were extremely attentive, caring, on top of all things; answered all of our questions, explained everything as they went along with test and why they were running them and made themselves available for anything we needed. He was admitted into the MICU, and WOW- talk about top tier care! We were blown away with everything and everyone. The Dr.’s were very informative and my husband needed a heart procedure, at this point, we were so very impressed, we didn’t think twice about going anywhere else, he was added on to their schedule, had a successful procedure and he was released the very next day. I myself have had 2 different hospital stays ( in other local hospitals) this last year and some outpatient procedures and to compare the VA to other facilities, you just can’t, it was that great. From the ER to the OR, my husband received nothing but A+ care ! Thank you, to the entire staff at the VA Cincinnati ❤️ Roger & Tammy Bright
My problem is with a Dr Bari in the mental ward from India who willingly let me suffer withdrawal from benzodiazapines he placed me on. I blacked out and woke up in neurology.
I've been using the VA healthcare system for 10 years, and I've visited a few VAMC's across the country. VAMC Cincinnati has been my worst experience. Their automated phone system is an endless loop, once you speak to someone they transfer you endlessly until the call is dropped and you are blessed with the chance to start from the beginning. Prior to my experience at VAMC Cincinnati, I never had difficulty obtaining care at a VA facility. Typically it's easy to continue or renew medications but at this facility they require separate referrals to different clinics. At my previous facility the primary care was allowed to prescribe all of my medications without referrals to separate clinics. In addition to the delays built in by the hospital administration, the parking situation here is atrocious. I drove around for 30 minutes trying to find parking in the garage, the lot, and surrounding streets before deciding to return to my home. There is barely any signage to guide you through the hospital. When you exit the elevators there’s a small map on the wall with tiny font. In addition to the administrative shortcomings, I've had multiple consults cancelled because they said they couldn't contact me. Nobody called, and the consult was cancelled by the time I received a letter. I've never had these issues at other VAMCs.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
