I would give this office 0 stars if I could. I had gone in a few years ago, and just ran across my bill-and I'm still so mad about it. They said they took my PPO insurance and my orthotics and everything was covered, but they wanted my credit card information anyway. Turns out, they did not cover anything and billed me. I still had my previous orthotics and didn't need new ones, but the dr. told me to get new ones since my insurance covered. Anyways, I think they are dishonest and I would advise anyone just to avoid going there.

Don't believe the negative Post's regarding Dr.Bernstein.I have been a patient of his for several years, and have nothing, but exemplary service.I have various foot issues, and Dr. Bernstein has treated all of them.I believe ,I am one of many patients whom are completely happy with his Bedside manner, and his overall skill, of being one of the Best Podiatrists in the South Bay.I believe most of the poor reviews ,are unfounded.

Dr David Bernstein was the only doctor who was able to diagnose and treat my hives successfully. I feel great, thank you so much

I took my elderly mother here, and let me tell you, I've never been to such a terrible doctor with a horrible staff. As I mentioned, my mother is elderly so I take her to many different doctor appointments. Dr. Bernstein by far has the worst bedside manner I've ever encountered, and his staff is rude. Every question is like you are inconveniencing then. I blame it on the tone Dr. Bernstein sets. His employees have him as a model. As you can see by my lack of reviews, it takes A LOT for me to review somewhere. The level of callous and condensing attitude towards my mother made me dig up my old Yelp password so I can make sure everyone knows not to go to this terrible man. Seriously, get out of the medical profession. I don't expect every doctor to be Mother Teresa, but there is a basic (and my standards are low as you can see again by my lack of reviews) standard of human interaction that Dr. Bernstein falls extremely below and so does his staff. Same issue as well. He submitted for orthotics when we clearly told him we were going to get s second opinion. What a shady, arrogant, just bitter man. I will never take my mother back here even if he is the last podiatrist left in So Cal. Awful. I can only imagine how he would have treated my mom if I wasn't there.

I came to Dr. Berstein as a worker's comp patient and had a good experience. He is attentive, and knowledgable. He truly gave me the best care that workers comp would allow, and I am grateful for that. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is his front office staff could be a bit more friendly.

It seems the rushed office visit and jump to orthotics is standard operating procedure here. (see my ***UPDATE*** at the end of this review) Dr. Berstein, after no introduction or hello, in about 30 seconds told me "arthritis, get an xray to confirm, likely do as many as 3-4 cortizone shots 3-4 per year, and orthotics. I've seen this a thousand times." Maybe so, thanks for making me feel like at least I'm on the correct diagnosis assembly line. And he never really answered my direct question about how advisable it is to get ongoing cortizone injections, other than to say they are a temporary fix. I know you aren't supposed to get them on an ongoing basis, but he never really told me whether he might advise continued injections over a period of years, or if doing so would be in my best interest (red flag, not informing patient clearly). Anyway, I got the x-ray, which was transmitted to his office. I called to see if he would tell me what it said since he'd already done his quick exam to see how I "present", as well as the fact that my followup appointment was 11 days after my initial appointment, at which point I was told by his phone person (after two tries on my part to get an answer), "yes, it's arthritis, there are no fractures ", and that I needed to come in for a follow up. I may be wrong, but I felt like he had already decided on a diagnosis before he saw evidence, and that maybe orthotics is a good profit generator for the office. And the lack of a straight answer about the cortizone also bothered me.I cancelled my followup, went to see another podiatrist (Dr. Darragh in Redondo). He seemed much more considered in his approach, explained things better, was not in a hurry to get to his next profit center, er, patient. And no mention of orthotics.***UPDATE***I initially saw him on 8/4, and he wanted to see me for followup to look at xray and reexamine me on 8/15. I called them back on 8/7, had the discussion with reception that I mentioned above, ending with me cancelling my future appointment. The following week I get a letter from my insurance saying he HAD ALREADY PUT IN A REQUEST FOR ORTHOTICS! My hunch was correct...clearly, he was not waiting to see me, but he was all about selling me some orthotics. Is there such a thing as an Orthotics Mill, where doctors grind out as many orthotic orders as they possible can?...think I just found one. Here's to doctors with my health as their primary interest, not their dales volume.

I went to Dr. Berstein's office several months ago. First off, before you head out make sure you have cash or your checkbook as they do not accept credit card transactions. This was an inconvenience and not mentioned when I made the appointment. Secondly, be prepared to get a chilly reception with a side of attitude from the front desk girl. Let me just say I do not know the front desk girl nor have I ever ran into her before but from the way I was treated by her, you would have thought I betrayed her deepest of trust at some point. It was awkward and uncomfortable. Dr. Berstein was nice and I felt like he was attentive to my issues. He said I needed a foot brace but they did not have one in small so I had to return once the order come in. Once again, I got the rude and unprofessional attitude from the front desk girl along with daggered stares. I unfortunately had to return again to get my foot molded for a custom orthopedic insert and needless to say, nothing changed. When my customized orthopedic arrived, my schedule was too full to find time to pick them up but I was not dismayed as I wasn't looking forward to the unpleasant atmosphere at his office. When I finally had the time to pick up my inserts that cost me over $300, I was once again treated horribly by his staff. I wanted to ask her what her issue was but I refrained knowing I would never ever go back. I was eager to go home and try my insert in my shoes but to my dismay they didn't fit correctly. I went to DSW and tried on about 2 dozen walking shoes before I found one that would work. I was frustrated. The insert had a nubbed heel on the bottom that when placed in a shoe it left my heel slipping out of the shoes and the sides of the insert is so wide that it hardly fit in most shoes. I need to take them back so they can fix them but I don't want to deal with Dr. Bersteins, nasty staff. I would highly recommend finding a different podiatrist office!

I had an appointment at this office for 2pm. I arrived at 2:05. I didn't see Dr. Yanniuntil 2:45. I was not pleased and I expressed my disappointment to him. Hisdefense was they scheduled 20 appointments for 4 hours. No apology, whatsoever. We had a heated discussion and I explained that I know what I haveto do.....I will never go back to this office!!! Poor customer service!!!!!!

Awful experience with this Podiatrist office. Only takes cash for co pays, No CC or Debit cards. better have a check book with you. Whom carries cash or check books anymore? My PCP physician due to my insurance change referred me to Dr Berstein. I saw Dr ? Iranian name which was fine, but he didn't solve, or take care of the original reason I was there. A recurring blister that keeps coming back , instead he billed my insurance for a new pair of ortotics to be made ( didn't need new shoes or ortotics to begin with). Was I shocked a week later when they handed the new ortotic to me over the counter and with scissors for me to cut them since they were way TOO long and did not match my foot. I actually butchered them sitting in their lobby trying to make their orthotics which I didn't need since the ones I already had were only a year old and was done in a more professional environment. Not in the lobby cutting them myself. NEVER heard of not being fitted for an orthotic in a lobby instead of a room with the doctor themself making sure it fits properly. Loved Hanger Orthotics the original place I got my first one in Torrance on Madison Ave. My new insurance only pays for Dr Berstein or one other choice whom I will definitely see next time!. Stay away from Dr Bersteins Podiatrist office. Unbelievable BAD unprofessional service. Horrific Experience

My primary care doctor sent me here for a continuing foot problem. Dr. was thorough but seemed to be in a hurry. Paid my co-pay [cash only] and then got a bill in the mail one week later for the same co-pay. Went back to get my orthotics one week later. Wore them out of the office but barely made it to my car due to sharp pain in both feet. Turns out they put the orthotics in in reverse, left in right shoe, right in left shoe. Both are clearly marked on the bottom. Dont think Ill be back.
