List of Sam B. H. Koo's Reviews
Professional courteous staff and little time wasted sitting in a waiting room.
I always recommend friends and family to Beacon. I have had great experiences and care by all the Docs I have seen and the PT staff is also top notch. Low wait times and excellent customer service as well.
I am sure Dr. Koo is a capable orthopedic surgeon. Unfortunately his caring and kindness for his patients is lacking. I saw Dr. Koo for a redo radial head replacement surgery on 1/10/22. I was treated poorly and sent away with a cortisone injection for my "tennis elbow". I was given no parting instructions. When I scheduled my own follow up his office manager called saying he won't do the redo and that they were canceling the appointment. As a thought leader in a different medical field I find this a disturbing way to handle a patient in acute/chronic pain that is left with an arm that can not reliably perform simple activities like brushing my teeth or washing dishes. The hypocritic oath says do no harm, but by not acting to assist a patient that is now unemployed due to the poor surgical outcome forced to sell his home during a pandemic that is doing great harm. This review is not left in anger, but as a warning to patients looking for a redo surgery. Beware!
Boy, I must’ve caught this guy on a bad day. I was referred to him through workmen’s comp. He pretty much diminished the severity of my injury and told me not to expect much in the way of treatment, as far as what workmen’s comp would approve. Whether he’s right or not, I felt as if I was talking to my company’s insurance company, and not a caregiver. Be wary of this guy, if you’re seeing him regarding a work related injury, he doesn’t seem to have the patient’s best interest in mind.

Excellent team!
I was having pain in my shoulder from a previous injury Dr koo was able to get me in that day. Dr Koo was also able to treat my inital injury without surgery while bekins competitor wanted to operate right away.
Dr. Koo and his team were very thorough and thoughtful. They answered all my questions in an understandable way.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
