Sunrise Treatment Centers's Online Review Report Card

This is specifically for middletowm office but I couldn't find that specific pffive on here go figure.. This place has to rank top 5 worst experience I've ever had. So I have had issues with the billing dept since i started in November. I at least weekly explained to them my deductible was 300 that it was met I just needed my claims posted. Well since I've been there 29th of November 2 claims had been posted out of like 8 to 10 of em that there should be. Every week i bring it up basically whole counseling session n every week nothing was done bout it. My counselor was at least ten to 15 min late coming to get me from lobby EVERY single week like clock work. Then the kicker is I almost got kicked out today for trying to explain this all to the director of this terrible establishment in middletown. This has been going on 3 months n she didn't even know this issue until i tried to explain it to her today. Her words were that sunrise has done everything they can for me and that it's my insurance which IS NOT TRUE EVERY OTHER DR CLAIMS CAME THRU FINE. THEN I HAD TO GET MY MOM TO SEND ME 5 dollars n 81 cents or they told me I couldn't get my meds today because I was short 5.81 n they owe me over a hundred bucks...they HOLD YOUR MEDS OVER YOUR HEAD BY THREATENING TO TERMINATE U FOR EXPRESSING YOUR OPINIONS. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS WORSE TREATMENT CENTER EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD OUTTA 3 DIFFERENT STATES!!!

These people will not taper you off of this medication. My counselor literally just admitted that she knows them refusing to taper and making me go cold turkey will kill me, yet they refuse to do it. be very cautious, go somewhere else if you don't want to die.

I went here today, and at first I had a very good experience I went in thinking that they prescribed Subutex because that's what I was told on the phone I was going to a previous treatment center getting suboxone and they make me sick so I was searching for a doctor that prescribed Subutex I thought I found it I did my intake questions then I get there do everything then I'm told that no we don't prescribe that but we can up you on the suboxone so I don't feel like their for the patient. They'd listen I don't want to be on this forever so no I don't want a bigger dose I want the medication that I know works for me.

I've experienced 3 very different types of suboxone treatment centers. Sunrise is THE BEST! It's a positive & helpful environment having the right counselor matters tho. As with any program, you have to be ready & put effort into changing. They can't do "the work " for you, & know if you're not. As long as you do (and don't do) what you're supposed to... it'll be a positive experience. If you're wanting less help, a dr's office might be better. This place is designed to actually HELP YOU!!

I feel they don't truly care about your well being by making they're appointments complicated to keep if you have a normal job. I left the program because my previous job schedule wouldn't allow me to be there before 5 every Thursday and they wouldn't let me get my medication from a pharmacy simply because of my type of insurance which doesn't make sense. I'm back in the program now not even a week but they want me to go 3 days a week because my schedule wouldn't allow me to be there before 5 on Thursday every week. I also read the comments and noticed someone else say they had a false positive for marijuana and I have to. I feel like they want to charge my insurance for all kinds of things and don't care about me having to choose between working or getting help. I got lots of numbers today and I'm calling around because there's lots of places that will understand if you can't make it in sometimes and still call in your medication to the pharmacy. I'm trying to better myself but I feel like they don't truly care I almost feel as if I'm being judged instead of them helping me. What one place won't do another will. I appreciate what there trying to do but if you have a job or responsibilities I don't think this place is for you and also one patient I spoke with said they were there for ten years which blew my mind as to why they haven't winged this man off the meds yet. That's my story hopefully no one goes through what I have.

I went here for approximately 3 1/2 months and had a horrible experience all around. I had to pay around $350 at intake just to enter the program. I was told this cost included my induction doses of Subutex. They gave me my induction doses at my intake where I met with a counselor and nurse practioner. I came back as I was supposed to a few days later to meet with the physician and was accosted by a nurse for not paying for my medication that I received at intake. I went ahead and paid the $50 or whatever it was for the 2 days or so of meds I received there. I didn’t say anything about not being aware of the costs or the nurse’s behavior (after all I need my meds and I’m at their mercy). So I went ahead and met with their physician. She called in a script to my pharmacy for buprenorphine (which is Subutex). When she called the script in I thought it was odd that she didn’t say “buprenorphine/naloxone” (Suboxone), but I figured she calls this stuff in all the time so they probably know what she means. I picked up my meds from Kroger and lo and behold I’ve received buprenorphine tabs (not buprenorphine/naloxone). I chalk it up to “oh well, guess that’s what they want me on”. The medicine had me so doped up I couldn’t drive and I had to have my husband take me to work (granted I was working nights and was severely sleep deprived). I go back the next week and tell my counselor. She goes over my meds and mentions that I’m on Suboxone. I explain to her that that’s not what I received. She calls the doctor in and the doctor and her look at the pills and confirm it’s definitely not Suboxone. Doctor acts flabbergasted and states the pharmacy made a mistake. I knew better, but didn’t say anything. These aren’t the people you want to piss off after all. She even tells me I need to go to the pharmacy and get them to take them back (which I did and they looked at me like I was stupid). Weeks go by... all my drug screens are fine...then out of the blue I test positive for opiates and marijuana. Now the opiates were my fault. I ate a poppyseed muffin....yes I knew you could test positive if you ate poppyseeds, but I assumed it would have to be large quantities, but apparently not (if you don’t believe me google it). It gets broken down into morphine and codeine in the body and still can be detected in blood. However the marijuana was impossible. I don’t do marijuana. Just don’t. I brought the muffin container and the receipt from when I had purchased them. They did a blood test which confirmed presence of opiates and confirmed the marijuana was a false positive. I explained my research on the poppyseeds to my counselor. She was disinterested. So I was asked to come in for a pill count. I had been working nights and the meds were making me tired so I didn’t take all of it at times. I failed the pill count for having too many pills. A few weeks go by and I test positive for marijuana again a few times. Again, I don’t smoke pot. I told my counselor they must have faulty collection cups or something (I’ve already had one confirmed false positive for marijuana). She says no one else is having this issue. I refused to have labs drawn to confirm this as I had already received a $250 bill for the last lab draw and they told me it wouldn’t affect me being able to get my meds anyway. I get called in again for another pill count a few weeks later (this is twice in 3 1/2 months) and fail again for having and extra pill. I was told by staff that this would have no bearing on me getting my meds. I go to 2 more appointments and have no issues getting my meds. I come the next week and am told I’m being dismissed with 7 days of half my dose of medicine for “non-compliance” (Well I was given an option to do some crazy program that would require me to be there 4 days a week, which is not an option as I have a job and a family to take care of). So now after 3 1/2 months of being clean (completely clean!!) I’m forced to find another treatment center that will accept me that will fit with my schedule.

I have been going to Sunrise Treatment Center for 4 years now. From the get go, I have been treated with the respect and care that someone in addiction is seeking. They have went over and beyond to assist me in any way that I have needed help with. They have continuously pushed me to put my health/recovery first. Due to different locations being opened, I have had 4 counselors and I have zero complaints about any of them. I have had a few complaints throughout my time here & they have always always worked with me through any of it. Anyone seeking outpatient addiction treatment, this IS the place for you!!

This place is truly amazing. If you are trying to get your life together and get back your sanity this is the place. You start off at one day per week and if you do good and have clean drug screens you will move to one visit everyday two weeks and so forth. Also the doctor visit is once a month. Now from what I have experienced from Brightview that starts you off at three to four times a week! Also if you think that you need the three to four visits a week they have n excellent IOP program that really there to help you get and stay clean. Some of the staff come from the same background and really do care! They don't look at you like your different from them like some places I have been to (Brightview). All you have to do to save your life is to pick up the phone and give them a call they will most of the time 95% get you in next day and will dose you same day! You can do it.
