I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Tobler. He is a kind, compassionate man and an excellent surgeon. I never once felt rushed during my office visits, and all my questions were thoroughly answered. My results were excellent even though I had a significant back problem. No more back pain! Dr Tobler is the best ever. I had neck surgery in the late 80s and again neck surgery about 2 1/2 years ago. Thanks to this man I can move my neck sleep read a book watch tv and drive he and his staff were wonderful and very caring. Always discussed everything with you. I tell everyone to go see this man he is the best

Dr. Tobler is a superb surgeon. I was experiencing severe neck, upper back and left arm pain that was hindering my quality of life as a dentist and new mom. After countless appointments with other doctors, PT, chiropractors, and two rounds of epidurals, I was referred by my PCP to Dr. Tobler. That’s when I heard the miraculous words from him, “I can fix your pain”. At 32, I didn’t think surgery was an option, but I soon realized it was the only option and the best decision. Dr. Tobler replaced a cervical disc with an artificial one and I woke up pain free. I feel like I got my life back thanks to Dr. Tobler. Not only is he a confident and extremely competent surgeon, he is also genuinely compassionate and honest. I couldn’t recommend Dr. Tobler enough!

Ever wonder how you lived with horrible back pain, soon becoming debilitating? Ever wonder WHY?? Was it fear of pain? Then I got lucky and met a gifted surgeon at the Mayfield Spine Center. Dr. William Tobler, my surgeon at Mayfield. My journey began 3 yrs. ago – after a very active life of tennis and aerobics, I began to have lower back pain. Getting worse, it led me to orthopedic doctors, PT, chiropractic, and acupuncture. Nothing lessened the pain. After 3 epidurals at Mayfield, my journey led me to Dr. William Tobler. Xrays and a mylogram later, Dr. Tobler looked at everything and said, as I held my breath, “I can fix it.” I didn’t know what to say – let’s go!! Surgery at Christ Hospital Spine Center was wonderful! Home 2 days later, already pain free!!! I can’t thank Dr. Tobler enough for taking a chance on me!!! In 2007 while my husband was stationed at WPAFB, I found myself in need of a lumbar spinal fusion. An old stress fracture I suffered in my teens had worn down the discs above and below the fractured vertebrae and my right foot and leg were beginning to go numb. In a bizarre yet serendipitous turn of events, the AF neurosurgeon recognized that it was not safe to do my case at WPAFB, and sent me to Cincinnati. For the rest of my life, I will forever be grateful to the USAF surgeon who would not operate on me in that hospital, and to Dr. Tobler who made immediate room for me on his schedule! At our first meeting in 2007, Dr. Tobler reviewed my charts and the prior surgical plan, examined my spine and quickly determined that an L5-S1 fusion would not be a sufficient repair of the damage. He told us that fusing just the one level would give me less than a year of relief before the disc above the fracture would give way, and I'd likely be back in the OR for another major surgery far too soon. My husband (a surgeon of a different specialty) and I were both immediately very much at ease with Dr. Tobler's knowledge, experience, confidence and bedside manner, and we agreed to an L4-S1 fusion. I recovered from that surgery very, very well and I was able to enjoy a medication-free lifestyle that included a return to full physical function for many years! Fifteen years and two more babies later, the time had arrived for me to surgically address the degeneration and debilitating pain in my right SI joint, a not-uncommon problem for both post lumbar fusion patients as well as women who have borne children. After exhausting years of non-invasive interventions for SI joint dysfunction here in our home state, we made the decision to move forward with another fusion. Despite the cost, the inconvenience to my husband's practice as well as the disruption to our family life, we bypassed our state's major university hospital as well as its world famous medical center to return to the place that felt right, Dr. Tobler and The Mayfield Clinic. As wonderful as our first experience with Dr. Tobler was, our second was even better! Between Dr. Tobler, his very kind secretary Kim N., the organized and thorough work of prior-auth specialist Angie D., the clinical nursing staff and the INCREDIBLE nursing staff at the surgery center - we felt like we were once more exactly where we belonged! Surgery was approved quickly, performed flawlessly, my post op pain was well controlled and my R SI joint feels like it has a new lease on life! I truly could not recommend Dr. Tobler and the Mayfield Clinic more highly! Sincerely, Amy T.

Doctor Tobler, his staff and mayfield clinic are all incredible. They make sure you are well taken care of. Gold star in service I cannot say enough about them. Been going there for 11 years.

I am fortunate and grateful to have been a patient of Dr. Tobler's @ Mayfield Spine Clinic. Dr. Tobler performed surgery upon me about 8 months ago. My surgery was carefully discussed & was very very successful. I found Dr. Tobler to be a brilliant, highly competent surgeon; one who is mindful, ethical and kind. WOW !! Dr. Tobler performed neck fusion surgery for C3 through C6. Prior to the surgery, i had unbearable pain in my lower neck, shoulders and arms. In fact, I had very limited mobility in either arm. Before deciding on the surgery, I had two appointments with Dr. Tobler and he explained to me - in very simple yet detailed language - my condition, its cause, the surgical solution and the consequences of surgery v. no surgery. After spending a few hours with him, the decision was clear, if I wanted to regain quality of life. The surgery was 100% successful. And, the outcome, including the post surgery side effects, were exactly as he described. So, I had zero surprises. I have had no pain whatsoever in the areas where I experienced in before the surgery. I have total confidence in Dr. Tobler's abilities and would recommend his services to anyone with neck or back pain conditions.
