Dr. Avram treated my wife past thyroidectomy (due to papillary carcinoma) and intentionally dosed her thyroid medication high to get her TSH levels as low as possible. As a result, she ended up in a severe state of hyperthyroid and ended up taking her life.

I saw Dr. Avram and she decided on my RAI dose after I had my thyroid removed due to papillary carcinoma. She was a little difficult to understand, but had great bedside manner, answered all my questions, and I felt very confident knowing she was providing me with the best care. I felt very well taken care of by both she and her entire staff.

Terrible bedside manner. My husband asked her a question and her response was very condescending. Didn't explain things to me very well. She did not make me aware of the side-effects before receiving treatment. DO NOT GO TO HER!!! I'm part of a local cancer support group and several have said that St. Joseph's has much better nuclear medicine physicians.

Excellent physician, takes the time to provide personalized medical approach by integration of the the information. She has explained all the elements of the decision making process (results from surgery, laboratory and imaging tests), and made me comfortable with the therapeutic decision. Highly recommended, especially when there is so much controversy regarding the topic of post-operative radioiodine administration for treatment of thyroid cancer.

Unprofessional. Always bashes other providers and doesn't take team approach to management. I received treatment from her only to find out it wasn't necessary based on the latest guidelines. I don't think she keeps up with the latest treatment recommendations.

Very poor bedside manner and I'm not confident she knows what she's doing. Not a good doctor! Don't see her! She gave me a treatment that caused serious side-effects. Turns out that I didn't need the treatment to begin with. Wasted a lot of miles coming down from the UP to see her.

Dr. Avram explained things to me quite well. However I had an extremely difficult time understanding what she was saying.
