Ed Benzel's Online Review Report Card

I find it a little hard to read these other (negative) reviews -as it doesn't sound like 'my' Doctor. I was referred to CC in 2005 (Akron Hospitals were NOT an option with this) a tumor in my spine. ... and I am BEYOND grateful to have walked in and had the blessing of Dr. Benzels expertise. I would recommend Dr. B .. to anyone, anywhere, anytime. This man KNOWS his craft, has penned articles/books. I have trusted him with my life, my ability to walk, and would do it all again in a heart beat.

I did not even want to rate a 1 star sent in with cervical thoracic lumbar and s damage 2 torn disc a bad surgery forminal narrowing spondolyosis etc intencive nerve damage waited spoke to 2 interns then the Great Dr arruves says you dont need surgery i am sending you to a Dr to help left all of maybe 2 minutes closed dorr sat there waiting 30 to 40 minutes went out of room heard talking laughing in office door closed went to desk only 1 person there was told Dr left no papetwork nothing so she calls someone says i am to so a Dr Malak Malak ?????still no paperwork on Monday as I explained I live 3 and a half hours away ask who this dr is she said drug rehab I am not a drug addict have all the proof in of damage 3 years of cds reports my primary care Dr was a pain management Dr for awhile I ask for little due to the regulations due to heroin addicts who buy pain pills from those who haven't as much damage as a lot of people I know, to support their SSI SSD and goverment payout while they play semi pro football, go do side work as true labor while an older person who has worked all their life until pain illness force to quit work early take forever to get approved . Sad very sad to go on high recommendation from my Dr to an elite hospital my cervical fusion too large and is causing damage my entire spine has severe loss of disc and intervertable vertebrae crazy a top Dr leave office and doesn't spend 2 minutes with a patient

This was the most horrible experience I've ever had was seeing a specialist. After waiting almost 3 months to get into this man-I waited for another two hours before I actually got to meet him. He is arrogant, a know it all, and asked me on three occasions while I was there to see him. I was there to see him because my doctor at the Mel and Center who I've been going to for 22 years recommended that I see him for a surgical consult. Dr benzyl however kept asking me why did I not think my pain was associated with MS? Because Dr benzyl it is not MS!!! He then proceeded to tell me I need you to push through my pain like a sports athlete does. Really? I wouldn't take my animal to see this man. He further said after his pontificating and analysis of my situation-if he doesn't do many surgeries anymore, and that if I want to see someone else they would probably most likely recommend surgery! We drove for nearly 2 1/2 hours waited nearly 3 months and then waiting for a very poor consult/opinion and to listen somebody who spends his time pontificating on how great thou Art. I personally feel it was a waste of my insurance money to see this man I will never go back to him again it is insulting that he suggests that I push through my pain and I'm going to let the Cleveland clinic know exactly how I feel about this man he should go home sit on the sofa and turn off his hearing aids
