Another warning about this quack. JUST DON'T!! She'd get (-) if an option. The point of this extra review is to save anyone from working w/her, to avoid the agony I suffered as her patient, plus reminders to check all psych Rx for side effects. When I started working with her in 2003, I was 46 years old, 5'3", weighed 120-123 wore small/xtra small. Except for when I was pregnant, and the pregnancy weight fell off. I started noticing the weight gain in '05, 2 years or so later. It was creeping up gradually, like I was now an 8 not a 6. Not obvious or major denial. I put it down to being over 50 + post menopausal In 2008, I had to take a physical for a new job, which included getting weighed. I was aware I gained "some" weight, but didn't expect, to my shock and horror, to weigh 188, a huge 65-68 gain. Even worse, 12 pounds fromMy hair became brittle and stayed that way for months. My blood work, always w/in normal limits, spiked, especially triglycerides. Blood pressure increased. My cognitive skills sets were definitely affected-slower, w/decreases in concentration and memory. I became easily fatigued and mentally lethargic. I became far more depressed than when I started w/her, and ending up meeting criteria for obese and stores for plus sized clothing. I never said a word to her about it, b/c by now I hated her but needed her wrist. She said nothing to me, perhaps because she was chunky and possibly qualified as Obese. I tried to convince myself that at 58, I earned the privilege of eating whatever I wanted and having a pregnancy sized stomach. It didn't work.I joined WW in 2012 and owe them. I had no interest in group meetings, so I negotiated with a coach to get weighted once a week. 2012/13 it cost $10/week. IDK if this option for group meeting avoiders is still available. 5 years after joining WW, in 2017, I weighed 130 and fit into a 6. By 2018- 15 years later-I made it back to 120-123. Mind you-I was 52 when I started with her. It took me 9 years-to age 61-to return to myself. But she treats depression. My blood work especially triglycerides flew into the Red range. This creature with the initials M.D. Mass Destruction and worse also had a terrible admin staff. They were rude and very cavalier about giving her patients' messages. She was always late refilling my Rx, especially my Klonopin. One time, I was starting to go through withdrawals, and went to our pharmacy for help. They all hated her for her arrogance and indifference to patient care. The head pharmacist got her on the line and told her that I was going into withdrawals and reminded her that failing to so was medical malpractice. His wrath left her w/no response except the only one I wanted my Rx. I am glad to see that drug companies and the medical profession-especially psychiatrists-have stopped lying, by omission or just lying, about meds that are weight gainers, create alarming spikes in blood work and other serious side effects. I wrote a complaint to the IDFPR and as expected heard nothing. I was satisfied that the Board notifies all licensed professionals when they receive a complaint, which would disturb her composure. You may wonder why, after almost 20 years, I remain so bitter and full of rage. I saw her for family and work concerns, common for a woman in her mid-40's, and to alleviate minor and annoying depression symptoms. I ended up unrecognizable, with borderline severe blood work, decline in my cognitive skills sets, apathetic, lethargic and more adjectives.I lost almost a decade of me. In my favor is that with life-defining crises, I will never back down.JUST DON'T!!
We were introduced to Dr Goldman thru Amen Clinics. We value her holistic approach. She is cautious in recommending medication unless absolutely necessary. In doing so, she is mindful to (hopefully) keep it temporary. She relates well to youth. We appreciate her focus on natural solutions such as - nutrition, supplements & meditation - to heal or stabilize the mind and body.
BEWARE!!!! DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR!!!! For 3 years she did noting but have me sit in her office and every single time she would ask me what supplements I was taking that she had given me. I paid her $10,000 and did not receive $10,000 worth of care. He sales pitch person PROMISED me and my husband that Dr. Goldman had a whole slew of Dr's she would be able to converse with/get opinions and help from so that she could help me. Um Ya, no that NEVER happened!!My tests found that I have lyme and mold toxicity. She admitted she did not know how to treat them, but would "read up on it". She decided on one protocol she wanted to follow, then changed to another one. She wanted to start me on a nasal spray for the mold. I asked her about clearing my detox pathways first and she says, "detox pathways have nothing to do with clearing mold." NOW I KNOW MYSELF, without any medical knowledge, that my detox pathways have to be clear to detox the mold. After that I told her I wanted a PARTIAL refund because she hadn't helped me and I did not trust that she could help me since she admitted she didn't know how to treat lyme/mold and she did not acknowledge the need for detoxing. She had the nerve to say to me that I want a refund because I was angry that no one has been able to help me. "UM NO I NEED a refund because I have to pay for someone else to help me because you DIDN'T." I asked for a refund because this woman did not have the decency to OFFER me money back knowing she could not help me!
I am dismayed that this vile woman is still practicing medicine. So dismayed that I am writing a 2nd review. It took me 9 years to lose the 60 pounds I gained under her (un) care. I had the psychiatric drug equivalent of a Long Island Iced Tea or a Dirty Martini, depending on how she mixed my pills. I was so sedated and dim-brained. I never fired her, I just stopped seeing her. An ethical doctor would follow up with long-standing patient to see at minimum if they were still alive. Not Lori G.I ended up calling our PCP for help. He saw me immediately. He told me later that he and his office manager did not recognize me.Dr. Perlman saved my life. He slowly weaned me off of 3 atypical antipsychotics that LG used off-label for depression: Abilify, Risperdal, and Seroquel. I immediately lost 14 pounds. Besides her unethical and dangerous prescribing habits, this malignant narcissist had the worst support staff. Their main function was to protect their boss from between appointment patient calls, pharmacists' calls, and other treating physicians' calls. She was consistent late in calling in refills. She seemed to enjoy having me start getting withdrawal symptoms from my Klonopin.I know it's hard work vetting a doctor, especially a psychiatrist. I wrote this new review to do my part in preventing innocent potential patients from het
I've been coming to see Dr. Laurie Goldman for a little more than 15 years. She's not only professional, but personable, and very easy to talk to! Because of her, I've been able to manage my anxiety disorder. I've come a long way since I first started seeing her, and I'm forever grateful for it. All of the staff are nice, and welcoming! Dr. Laurie actually cares about her patients, and it shows. There are plenty of other doctors out there, and yet I'd never want to go anywhere else.

This terrible person worked in cohoots with my wife'sTherapist and had her so addicted to Xanax (6 mg a day) until my wife overdosed twiceMy wife was told neither her therapist or dr g would speak to her unless she quit cold turkeyWell thank god she went to advocate and was weaned off. She was told if she followed that quacks orders she may have gone into cardiac arrest and diedThe two criminals did send papers for my wife to sign releasing them of responsibilityMy wife got into a recovery program and is 4 years clean STAY AWAY!!!!!
Horrible doctor who is extremely inconsiderate, doesn't return phone calls or listen to patient needs. Every time I went in, she was trying to self promote her seminars and business and spent all of 5 min trying to change medications. Her office staff doesn't answer the phones and isnt friendly either. Appotintment times consistently run 30-40 min late and there was never an apology. Would never recommended this dr to anyone!
Would leave zero stars if possible:1) Never returned my phone calls in a timely manner. Provided she returned them at all.2) When I called her staff/answering service to contact her, they were beyond extremely rude. And failed to give her my messages in a timely manner.3) Aggravated and disgusted the pharmacists where I filled prescriptions, since she failed to return their repeated calls and messages regarding refills. (see #4). She REPEATEDLY left me in danger of abrupt withdrawal from my medications, especially benzodiazepines, which can cause seizures and severe panic attacks.4) Refused to put refills on any of my prescriptions, then refused to call in refills when I finished the 30-day supplies IN 30 DAYS.5) The ONE time she returned my call about getting my refills, she suggested that I admit myself to rehab (!)6) Did not bother, once in four years, to coordinate care with my therapist. I asked her, politely, several times, and gave up. My therapist left many messages, which were never returned, and gave up. 7) Prescribed me Seroquel and Abilify without any mention of side effects. LIKE WEIGHT GAIN!#%$&*##!! AND TARDIVE DYSKINESIA!#%$&*##!!.I am 5'3'' tall. When I started with her, I weighed 125 pounds. When I fired her, I had gained 63 pounds, weighing in at 188. I met the criteria for clinical obesity. Yes, I remain enraged by how I was not informed that Abilify and Seroquel can cause weight gain. If I was depressed before, does gaining 63 pounds alleviate it?How about the charming Tardive dsykinesia tongue-thrusting? Lip-smacking? Pin-rolling? (involuntary finger movements) Went great with being clinically obese.7) I started with this whatever she was at age 46. I was suffering from stress and depression, due to family and work concerns, like many adults. It's called LIFE. Here's what I was on when I finally wised up and fired her at age 50: :AmbienSeroquelAbilifyXanaxZoloftCelexa8) When I went to see our long-time family doctor, Neil Perlman, M.D., he and his office manager, Dawn, were absolutely horrified. He contacted my therapist immediately to see if I was inpatient psych admission material, specifically, a suicide risk. I never was suicidal or homicidal or unable to care for myself. Dr. Quacker was dangerous to me. It's called an iatrogenic illness.9) Dr. Perlman SAVED MY LIFE. He slowly and carefully weaned me off of Abilify, Celexa, Seroquel, and Zoloft. He titrated me down on the Xanax. He added Lexapro 10mg. He kept the Ambien (10mg). Fortunately, he was able to stop the Tardive dsykinesia symptoms without adding Rx, or worse, as in having them permanently. I also lost 17 pounds within 6 weeks of working with him. Thanks to Dr. Perlman and Weight Watchers, 9 years after this I-don't-know-what-to-call her made me hit the criteria for obesity, I am back to weighing 125. 10) Of ultimate importance, my mental status is greatly improved. I have a psychiatrist, Alexander Golbin, M.D., Ph.D., a treasure a) who was referred to me by Dr. Perlman b) coordinated the transfer of my care with Dr. Perlman c) kept the same successful medication regimen d) puts refills on my prescriptions e) suspected that I had sleep apnea-sleep disorders being one of his endless and multiple areas of expertise f) immediately had me do a sleep study, confirmed the diagnosis, attributed it partly due to the weight gain, and gave me a C-Pap before I choked to death ( thanks to weight loss, sleep apnea no longer exists ) g) returns my calls h) returns calls from our pharmacy i) coordinates care with my psychologist, Serge Sorokin, Psy.D., another treasure with endless and multiple areas of expertiseI apologize for the length of this review; she did so much harm to me that I needed the space.
