They force you to sign a pink slip to make you stay longer and if you don't they take you to court to see if your safe to let go just so they can get paid more money. The staff was unprofessional as hell when I went up to get my medicine they said here's the cream for your chest I said I don't need it anymore they said oh so you're refusing. Then when I was crying this nurse came up and said do you need a pill for anxiety 😐 I hate when they force you to go to a hospital for suicide when you don't want to.
I like it it made me feel better and the staff made feel like I was home my favorite staff was nae
Made the mistake of keeping this facility on my safety plan after I was admitted about a year ago in about June. Was discharged from this facility about three weeks ago at this point . This facility is all looks and appearances , the actual details and treatment are so subpar that 7 days felt like a whole month and I’ve been in facilities for months at a time ! Not worth your time unless you want to be worse off mentally . I mentally clocked out about halfway through my stay because the treatment was that bad . Firstly , the treatment team . If you are admitted here with meds on you , you will NOT be given them ! I have major depression , which is interestingly the diagnosis they gave me as well . But seemingly the best course of action was to take me off my Auvelity for a week ! So they inadvertently were making my depression worse ! They will try and pressure you into changing your meds as well ! Don’t let them marking you as “ refusing “ meds prevent you from being scrutinizing with your medication . You know yourself best , especially if you’ve been in treatment in the past . Speaking of past facilities , I’m autistic and in a guardianship with my mother for my safety . Didn’t change their utter lack of communication or collaboration with family or friends at all ! Which has never been an issue in the past . I can understand not receiving the paperwork , or the more likely event that it wasn’t given to the unit’s staff / it was lost . But that isn’t my fault or my mother’s . She has been attempting to receive my medical records for my current med management . She has gotten no response until contacting the owner if I remember correctly , what a basic premise made difficult by severe mismanagement LOL . Oh also I HEAVILY advise you avoid this place if you’re even slightly on the spectrum ! when I was in their care they had a poor woman who was at a much younger mental age than me , and in my perspective the team completely ignored her and misunderstood her . Even went to seclusion once , which I empathize with because they wouldn’t send her back to her group home ! I will note that patients AND staff don’t help with this alienation either . Prepare to feel like a burden during your treatment despite this being THEIR job . I get disliking aspects of it , but night shift LOVES to gossip about their patients and families ! Despite knowing that the patients doors will be cracked at night . I should also note that depending on your state whether on admission or as you progress through “ treatment “ ( what they do barely fits the definition ) be prepared for highschool esque treatment from the patients ! There was a handful of people that were still sweet and understanding to me , despite my depression kicking in . But is it really appropriate to allow patients to gossip about others when they’re struggling ? For example : there was a man around my age saying I was “ so depressed “ because “ I got caught masturbating in my room . “ Which wasn’t the case at all LMAO . But hey , if they let staff do it I’m not surprised patients aren’t discouraged from doing it as well . Do not admit yourself here , allow it on your safety plan , or allow an ER to send you here ! 💔💔
12 hours in and the staff didn't have one of her schizophrenic drugs that she MUST take. I was called to bring it to them along with her phone so they could monitor her sugar on her Libre. I spent 20 mins explaining ALL of her physical and mental issues and that she is a very difficult medical case with alot of issues. Sugar goes low below 60 often. She can't eat due to other issues easily. She went there not having eaten all day. They did not feed her. They also took the medications from me in a plastic Tupperware container, NOT a prescription bottle. I am glad they gave her the meds but ... HEY IDIOTS... YOU'RE A DRUG AND MH FACILITY. YOU SHOULD CLEARLY KNOW THAT IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL!!!! This morning I receive a call from my friend saying she isn't being given her morning meds. She is on HIGH does of Effexor. What!!! at 9:20 she was still asking for it and her other meds. Oh, and did I mention that she had to drag herself over to the med counter this morning to ask for her sugar to be tested, it was 46!!!!! 46!!!!! I don't even know how she was conscious enough to even go ask to be tested. She was given a glucose cocktail. No activities. No therapy so far. She said I hate this place and I want out. Let me add that my friend, the pt, worked in the medical field as a hospice nurse. She knows what she is talking about, she knows meds. Let's see how the rest of the week goes. I am about to reach out to ALL of her Doctors and have them reach out to this facility and raise HELL about their patient. They have not spend 5 years working on keeping her healthy and alive with all of her issues to have her come here for treatment regarding her mental collapse and be killed by them. This is 12 hours in to a 7 day stay.... I'll keep you posted on this shit show! OHIO HEALTH your partnering with this facility for WHAT REASON!?!?!?!?!? DOOOOOOOO BETTER!!!! ALL OF YOU!!!!!!
My significant other is a patient in your care and she is getting disrespected by staff. There care is not medically up to par and the thought of both men and woman in the same unit. Where is the safety concerns and who is responsible if something was to happen if someone got hurt or sexually abused this is an outrage and the men and woman should be separated to ensure the safety of your patients. It goes as far as the men can see the woman in the shower and in there rooms this is totally unacceptable and my significant other does not feel safe in your staffs care as they do not meet the needed requirements of patients and they do not call back if left with an important message. I will never recommend anyone to your facility for care. Iam disgusted that you people take advantage of people in need of care and there is no compassion or care of the individuals they are looked at as a pay check and that is sicking and upsetting. Your facility needs to be held accountable for there lack of empathy towards good people who need the help and are reaching out to be treated like dogs at a dog shelter. Your management needs to be restructered and empathetic to each patients needs this is a reflection on your company and your self respect for others.
if I could give this place 0 stars I would. Horrible communication. My partner was involuntarily sent here and we haven’t heard anything in 72 hrs. We can not get to him nor talk to him. It’s very worrisome how they treat families and even more worrying to their patients. Do not send your family here, RUN!
This place is a joke. My brother was transferred there from the hospital and his 72 hour hold was supposed to be done yesterday. Every time we call there we leave the voicemail that is required to leave for the patient and we never hear back. I am very worried about what this place is doing to my brother. Hospitals need to stop transferring people to this facility
They do give you some outside smoke breaks but other than that it's just like jail
As a patient that stayed for over 7 days, I would say this place is terrible with the resources they have. Throughout my time here, I was given someone else's medical bracelet and registered the wrong meds, even after telling them that was not what I was on. A pathetic place that makes people worse. If someone got upset, which being rightfully so, they would not let them come out of the room or even go for meals as punishment. This place needs new ownership. Great facility, awful people.
was pink slipped here after a drug induced psychosis. the facility was clean and well put together but my god it was so boring. a majority of the staff was unpleasant but there were a few good ones who seemed to truly care. groups were pretty much useless, occasionally a speaker would come share their story and i usually enjoy those kinds of groups but most "groups" were just read off a paper and answer questions. no getting to the root of issues, most facilitators/staff members seemed to brush everything off and just go on to the next topic on the worksheet. they had 2 tvs and people would be going war over what was going to be watched. my first roommate had serious mental problems (no judgment, i'm also mentally ill.) i would wake up in the middle of the night and she would just be laying there staring at me and made all kind of noises through the night. i brought up my uncomfortably with the staff and they got me a new roommate the next night so i was grateful for that. plus the girl they roomed me with was my age and we got along well. finally a few of us figured out how to have some fun at the end of the never ending days and would play Yahtzee. i would never go back to Cbus Springs willingly (god forbid im ever forced back) and would never recommend it to someone looking for actual substance/mental help. i was admitted for both reasons but the mix of patients was chaotic man. i just stuck w my lil group of pals and did my best to make it through. i didnt really eat much of the food but everybody else seemed to like it so thats a plus side. can't remember how often you got smoke breaks but nowhere near enough for the conditions you were inwanna say it was about a 15 minute break outdoors every 2-3 hours? pretty sure 15 minutes is accurate and you could have 2 cigarettes but i don't remember how frequent they were. not frequent enough that's all i know lmao. do not recommend Columbus Springs East whatsoever, and I am so sorry for anyone who ends up there. It's been about a year since my stay there so hopefully they've gotten better but unfortunately doubtful. to end on a positive note, the rooms were very spacious and you shared a bathroom with your roommate which was also decently sized. the cons absolutely outweigh the pros tho, columbus has tons of amazing mental health/detox/rehab facilities so i encourage you to do lots of research before deciding on one, especially if Columbus Springs East is seeming to be your facility of choice. good luck to all of you and pleeeaaaaaseeeee do your research before spontaneously deciding on a facility. call around, read reviews, see how meds are handled, ask about doctors/nurses/psychiatrists, ask about activities other than coloring and hall pacing, and if you're a smoker make sure you have access to frequent smoke brakes if not smoke brakes whenever you pleasenot trying to discourage anybody from attending cbus springs if it seems right for you. just sharing a bit of my experience and it seemed there were many more negatives than positives. i truly dochope it's improved since my stay there!
