List of David Hirsh's Reviews
Dr. Hirsch seemed annoyed when he told me I could enter his examination area. He remained silent for several minutes while typing. When he stopped typing and examined my eyes he was not gentle. None of the information that I had provided regarding my prior eye surgeries and vision problems seemed of interest to him and none of this information was documented in my file.
He spends a lot of time updating your tests (2-4 hour appointment) in his computer as you sit in the eye exam chair. When you want to say or ask something he keeps telling you to "wait, wait" as he's typing and by the time he's finished you forgot what you needed to ask him. His detailed notes are finished and everyone's happy except you.
I've always thought Dr. Hirsh was great. He is very attentive and takes the time the listen to my concerns. I never feel rushed.
very rude unprofessional staff Dr. Hirsh himself is also very rude, arrogant and very sarcastic
Drove 2 hrs 1 way that was a waste of MY time and gas. He walked in sat n typed typed typed before acknowledging me. Very short and rude with me, didn't answer questions, ignored me, and all this after a 3 hour wait!!!!!!! WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN!!!!!!!!
On August 18, 2021, I received the most rude unprofessional treatment by Dr. David Hirsh. He was disrespectful of me both of my time and of me personally. Waited 4 hours to see him at the Olentangy River Road site. Had hopes of discussing the possibility of glasses he had mentioned at an earlier appointment being able to increase my peripheral vision enough so I might still drive. He said no glasses could improve my sight. I have AION. When I was tested by the OSU eye clinic they told me to try searching with my more compromised left eye to determine the letter on the chart. Dr. Hirsh suggested I learned the searching on my own and said it was not productive. Asked if it might be beneficial for me to see an AION specialist in Florida. He said there was no such thing as an AION specialist & they would not know any more than he does. Read of several new methods of improving AION hoping to get his opinion. He said they were not proven, and said I would not need to see him again.
I wouldn’t take my dog to this Mr.Hirsch. Please watch how he treats you. He told me I could see things that I literally could not see. Got a second opinion with the Cleveland Clinic and was diagnosed correctly. I could see everything that they gave me. If I couldn’t see it they put it where I could. This Mr.Hirsch knew I couldn’t see I told him over and over I can’t read what’s on the wall he said just guess, which I did and before I was done he just grabbed the machine said my eyes were fine. He’s intolerant and when he moved my face around it was quite painful due to the cyst in my neck. Don’t go here..!
Do not go to Dr. Hirsh like others has said. I was referred to him and wished I had never went. Told me there was nothing wrong with me when I know what I feel. Sometimes science can't answer everything. He only looked at me for maybe 10 minutes. No wonder people hurt themselves when you have doctors like him. Wish there was a zero to grade him on.
Dr. Harsh does not read your past medical history before seeing you. Then he tells you, you never had pseudo tumor debris, high pressure, double vision or anything else you say is your problem! He is grossly over weight, tells you to move closer to him for your exam. I was not allowed to have my husband in the exam room with me. You ask him a question, you are told to wait until he is done typing! Then he will turn an say you are fine and you can go! I will not return to this man again nor would I refer anyone to him.
If I could rate zero I would. Stay FAR away from this medical ‘professional’. Like many others state, he refuses to even acknowledge your presence when you sit in the exam room. The fact that I had to ask his ‘permission’ to sit in the room with my 84-year-old frail and elderly mother is laughable. He traumatized my poor mother by bluntly stating “you have Parkinson’s disease“ simply because her hands were shaking for which we then explained was due to a recent medication change and hand tremors run in our family. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time and wears a wig and as he proceeded to examine her, without asking her permission, raised her wig up off her forehead to raise her eyebrows. When she mentioned she has breast cancer, he said “that’s not relevant as to why you are here“ and continue to examine her. Who treats patients like this?! Condescending, arrogant, inhumane and medically reckless do not even begin to describe this person!!!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
