Dr. Renton informed me that I had a hernia that needed to be operated on. He then thrust a paper in my hand for me to sign and then left the room. There was no explanation, there was no understanding of why he picked a particular type of surgery, there was no provision of his experience and why he was the man for the job. I feel anxious and uninformed.
