What a waste of time. I went to Dr McNeil’s office twice on the advice of my very competent rheumatologist. Both times I had no idea why I was there and neither did he. I don’t think he even read my file. I have RA and chronic pain. An hour into my wait in a very small and stuffy room, the nurse came back in and told me she had forgotten to take my blood pressure. Another 20 minutes go by...pain and blood pressure rises. He finally comes into my room, asks a few fundamental questions. Proceeds to tell me what a good friend he and my rheumatologist are and then tells me he’s going to write him a letter. What letter? The fact that he sees the talent in my rheumatologist is the only thing that made sense. Maybe there comes a time in a doctors career where you settle into what’s comfortable. When you only want to treat allergies and something out of the box isn’t worth the trouble. I gave this guy a second chance. I should have followed my instincts. Never again.
Doc McNeil is professional, caring and competent allergist. The shot room nurses and other staff are always caring, friendly and competent. I can't say enough good things about this practice. Midwest Allergy is the best!
My first experience with Dr. McNeil was a 52 minute wait in the waiting room at a 40 minute wait in the exam room. I have had infections my entire life. Dr. McNeil told me in his office that he thought I should see an infectious disease doctor. He also offered no names, just told me to find one and they would send a referral. I found a couple different infectious disease doctors and Dr McNeil said he’d rather not use those but he’d rather use the one that he was going to give me so someone explain to me why he didn’t give it to me when I was in his office. I did contact the infectious disease doctor and they tell me they need a diagnosis so I go back again to Samantha who works for Dr. McNeil and I asked for the referral which he had said he would give. Samantha says her & Dr. McNeil need to sit down and talk about it. She also said that they would be getting all the blood test together and send them off to the infectious disease doctor. The infectious disease doctor got no blood test and no one got back to me. So I called Samantha back today to be told they’re not going to get the referral. They want me to get a different urologist. There is no communication in this office. I had discussed with her my urologist but at no time was I told that I was not going to be getting my referral. Samantha said she just thought that I should consider getting a different urologist. She said she was going to talk to Dr. McNeil on Wednesday about the referral which he had said from the beginning he wanted me to see an infectious disease doctor. So now I have no referral after waiting the last couple weeks and I’m going to have to get it from my family physician. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing in this office and if you want to go to someone that has no communication and long wait times then so be it. I’m shocked as to how I was treated. I’m shocked at the horrible communication.
I want to be very fair with this review. My first appointment I waited almost itwo hours before being seen by the doctor. 52 minutes in the waiting room 40 minutes in the exam room waiting to be seen. This was at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Two other patients sitting in the waiting room with me both told me that their appointments were for 3 o’clock. Once I got in Dr. McNeil told me I needed to see an infectious disease doctor. He did not offer any names but said he would send a referral. when I found someone. I looked up names and called in and spoke with Samantha only to be told that Dr. McNeil would like me to see someone of his choosing. He could have told me that before I did my homework looking up an infectious disease doctor. He did call In the referral with the doctor. Their office said they needed a diagnosis so Dr. McNeil‘s office staff Samantha said to me why don’t you consider getting a new urologist I did tell her that I would look into that but at no time did I say I was not going to see the infectious disease doctor. So I am led to believe that they’re going to get me in with the infectious disease doctor I waited a few days and called the infectious disease doctor back and they said no they didn’t receive anything else from Dr. McNeil’s office. Samantha told me they were going to send over all the blood test and anything that the infectious disease doctor needed so I had to call back to Dr. McNeil’s office and speak to Samantha again. She tells me that no they didn’t send over the blood test or anything that the infectious disease doctor would need because they thought I was just going to get a new urologist. This is why I’m so upset with this whole thing is because this went on for weeks and then what happens I’m stuck with no referral to see the infectious disease doctor. I had to get a referral from my dermatologist. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing at this office.
When I tell you my story you will change your mind if you were considering going to this doctor. I came to this doctor with a referral from my dermatologist due to to the fact that I have many infections. My first visit I waited in the waiting room 52 minutes and 40 minutes in the exam room. He felt that my immune system is pretty good so he said that he wanted me to see an infectious disease doctor. He also agreed that I have many infections. He offered no doctors name for the referral. He told me to just look for a few different infectious disease doctors and that he would send the report. So I found a couple different infectious disease doctors and called his office for the referral. I did the legwork. The next thing you know I get a call from Samantha telling me that Dr. McNeil would referr me to an infectious disease doctor that he knew. So I'm wondering why didn't he give me the name of that doctor while I was in his office? So I finally get a referral over to the infectious disease doctor and they say they need bloodwork & all test that were done so I have to go back to Samantha again to tell them to send this stuff. She says Dr. McNeil is out of town but he will be back on Wednesday and that she will talk to him and they will get the blood test together & whatever the infectious disease doctor needs and that they will send it to him. She also discussed with me that maybe I should consider getting a different urologist. At no time did they say they were not going to send the referral so I wait until Fridayand call the infectious disease doctor back. They tell me they never received the referral with the test results. I called Samantha back to be told that they weren't going to send the referral they just feel that I need to get a new urologist. The communication in this office with the patient unbelievably horrible. I have a doctor telling me he wants me to see an infectious disease doctor but yet they never send over any of the blood test that the infectious disease doctor needed. No one communicated with me as to what her and the doctor talked about on Wednesday and they knew that I was waiting for those test to go over to the infectious disease doctor. When you have infections your entire life this kind of treatment really gets you down and just makes me want to just give up on finding any kind of a true, caring, professional doctor. You won't get it from this office.
Dr. McNeil spends time with me to understand how I feel and to design the best treatment for my condition. He really cares about his patients’ well-being. Recommend him highly!
Dr. McNeil is by far the best, most professional, and understanding doctor I have ever met. The office staff was great and friendly. The facility was very nice and a pleasant. Highly recommended. Thank you for all the help.

Thanks to Dr McNeil I have my life back. I have been sick for years and doctor after doctor and test after test they all just scratched their head and said we know you are sick but don't know why or what to do until I met Dr McNeil. Diagnosed with CVID and I now get monthly IVIG, I have my life back! Thank You!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
